Abstract
This report describes an enhanced test system (RTS-96) for use in bulk power system reliability evaluation studies. The value of the test system is that it will permit comparative and benchmark studies to be performed on new and existing reliability evaluation techniques. The test system was developed by modifying and updating the original IEEE RTS (referred to as RTS-79 hereafter) to reflect changes in evaluation methodologies and to overcome perceived deficiencies.

An Iterative AC-SCOPF Approach Managing the Contingency and Corrective Control Failure Uncertainties With a Probabilistic Guarantee

TL;DR: It is shown that the first step on the transition toward probabilistic reliability management can be achieved by suitably adapting presently available operational practices and tools.

Security-based multi-objective congestion management for emission reduction in power system

TL;DR: The proposed procedure comprises two stages: in the a priori stage, transmission congestion management cost (TCMC) and emission are traded-off via a proposed stochastic augmented e-constraint technique which yields a set of non-dominated solutions which are selected by considering power system security.

Impact of Public Aggregate Wind Forecasts on Electricity Market Outcomes

TL;DR: In this article, a joint day-ahead energy and reserve auction is considered, where producers offer their conventional power strategically based on a complementarity approach and their wind power at generation cost based on the forecast, and an iterative game-theoretic approach is incorporated in order to investigate the existence of an equilibrium for various values of aggregate forecast.

Impacts of different wind speed simulation methods on conditional reliability indices

TL;DR: In this article, the impact of different wind speed simulation methods on the adequacy evaluation by the conditional reliability indices is examined, and an adequacy process based on sequential Monte Carlo approach is established, and three wind power integration scenarios are designed in the modified IEEE-RTS.

Static Security Analysis based on Vulnerability Index (VI) and Network Contribution Factor (NCF) Method

TL;DR: This paper introduces a new approach of power system static security analysis based on the vulnerability index (VI) and network contribution factor (NCF) method, which gives fast approximate power flow results due to parameter change (contingency)based on the base load flow condition and network information.
