The immune system, adaptation, and machine learning

TLDR
A dynamical model for the immune system is described that is based on the network hypothesis of Jerne, and is simple enough to simulate on a computer, and has a strong similarity to an approach to learning and artificial intelligence introduced by Holland, called the classifier system.

An agent based modeling approach for the analysis of tuberculosis – immune system dynamics

TL;DR: UISS is able to simulate those mechanisms in which M. tuberculosis is involved in the early influx of alveolar macrophages and recruited neutrophils until the formation of the tuberculous granuloma, at both cellular and molecular levels.

Knowledge extraction of agricultural data using artificial immune system

TL;DR: Mining agricultural data with artificial immune system (AIS) algorithms, particularly the clonal selection algorithm (CLONalG) and artificial immune recognition system (AIRS) and a fuzzy-rough feature selection (FRFS) method is coupled with CLONALG and AIRS for improved detection and computational efficiency.

Modelling of FMS control policy: AIS-based fuzzy expert system

TL;DR: In this paper, an artificial immune system-based fuzzy expert system is developed for a flexible manufacturing system (FMS) to make the real-time decision in the randomly changing marketing and production environments.

Immuno-inspired heterogeneous mobile robotic systems

TL;DR: Experimental results show that search-ro Bot can efficiently arbitrate the behaviors of wander, obstacle avoidance, target search and inter-robot communication and that the rescue robot can then navigate through the obstacles to effectively rescue the target(s).

A Simulation of the Humoral Immune System

TL;DR: The idea of theoretically describing the immune system has become popular in the past decade, and in fact the existence of the present volume is evidence for the emergence of the field.

Somatic generation of antibody diversity

TL;DR: In the genome of a germ-line cell, the genetic information for an immunoglobulin polypeptide chain is contained in multiple gene segments scattered along a chromosome which are assembled by recombination which leads to the formation of a complete gene.

A mathematical model illustrating the theory of turbulence

TL;DR: In this article, the application of statistical analysis and statistical mechanics to the problem of turbulent fluid motion has attracted much attention in recent years, and the authors investigated a complicated system of nonlinear equations, in order to find out enough about the properties of the solutions of these equations that insight can be obtained into the various patterns exhibited by the field and that data can be derived concerning the relative frequencies of these patterns in the hope that in this way a basis may be found for the calculation of important values.
