The immune system, adaptation, and machine learning

TLDR
A dynamical model for the immune system is described that is based on the network hypothesis of Jerne, and is simple enough to simulate on a computer, and has a strong similarity to an approach to learning and artificial intelligence introduced by Holland, called the classifier system.

An Artificial Immune System as a Recommender System for Web Sites

TL;DR: In this paper, an attempt is made to extend this idea to web site recommendation using a collection of more than 1000 individuals web profiles (alternatively called preferences / favourites / bookmarks file) will be used.

Investigation the efficiency of gravitational search algorithm in optimization of sandwich structures under longitudinal loading with yielding and buckling constraints

TL;DR: In this article, weight optimization of these panels is carried out by Gravitational Search Algorithm based on yielding and buckling constraints, which is a heuristic algorithm that is based upon the Newtonian gravity force and the laws of motion.

Gpu-based parallel optimization and embedded system application of immune convolutional neural network

TL;DR: This work used the immune mechanism to improve the convolutional neural network, and put forward an algorithm of the new immune convolution neural network that has higher recognition rate, more stable performance and faster computing speed than the traditional one.

Immune System and Artificial Immune System Application

TL;DR: The AIS has proved artificial immune system can capture the basic elements of the immune system and exhibit some of its chief characteristics, and is more suitable than simulated annealing and genetic algorithms for solving problem.

A Complex Artificial Immune System and Its Immunity

TL;DR: Simulations of pattern recognition illustrate that the proposed complex artificial immune system has not only the complex memory capacity and classification ability, but also the ability of recognizing translation patterns in high accuracy, which binary artificial immune systems do not have.

Somatic generation of antibody diversity

TL;DR: In the genome of a germ-line cell, the genetic information for an immunoglobulin polypeptide chain is contained in multiple gene segments scattered along a chromosome which are assembled by recombination which leads to the formation of a complete gene.

A mathematical model illustrating the theory of turbulence

TL;DR: In this article, the application of statistical analysis and statistical mechanics to the problem of turbulent fluid motion has attracted much attention in recent years, and the authors investigated a complicated system of nonlinear equations, in order to find out enough about the properties of the solutions of these equations that insight can be obtained into the various patterns exhibited by the field and that data can be derived concerning the relative frequencies of these patterns in the hope that in this way a basis may be found for the calculation of important values.
