The oyster genome reveals stress adaptation and complexity of shell formation

TL;DR: The sequencing and assembly of the oyster genome using short reads and a fosmid-pooling strategy and transcriptomes of development and stress response and the proteome of the shell are reported, showing that shell formation in molluscs is more complex than currently understood and involves extensive participation of cells and their exosomes.
Journal ArticleDOI

The genome of the cucumber, Cucumis sativus L.

Sanwen Huang, +95 more
- 01 Dec 2009 -
TL;DR: This study establishes that five of the cucumber's seven chromosomes arose from fusions of ten ancestral chromosomes after divergence from Cucumis melo, and identifies 686 gene clusters related to phloem function.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ameliorating effects of water bamboo shoot (Zizania latifolia) on acute alcoholism in a mice model and its chemical composition

TL;DR: In this article , the ameliorative effect of water bamboo shoot (WBS) on acute alcoholism mice was investigated and potential biological compounds were explored and showed that extraction methods significantly affected the active substances contents and bioactivities of WBS.
Journal ArticleDOI

Proteomics Reveals the Mechanism Underlying the Autolysis of Postharvest Coprinus comatus Fruiting Bodies.

TL;DR: Quantitative proteomics and bioinformatics analyses have been applied for revealing the autolysis mechanism of postharvest Coprinus comatus fruiting bodies and indicated that the Autolysis Mechanism of C. comatus was complicated.
