Deep Resequencing of GWAS Loci Identifies Rare Variants in CARD9, IL23R and RNF186 That Are Associated with Ulcerative Colitis

TL;DR: It is suggested that rare variants in genes identified by genome-wide association in UC are unlikely to contribute significantly to the overall variance for the disease, and are expected to help focus functional studies of the corresponding disease loci.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification of a sudden cardiac death susceptibility locus at 2q24.2 through genome-wide association in European ancestry individuals.

Dan E. Arking, +65 more
- 30 Jun 2011 -
TL;DR: A genome-wide association meta-analysis is performed in 1,283 SCD cases and >20,000 control individuals of European ancestry to identify the BAZ2B locus as associated with SCD and test the role of 49 SNPs previously implicated in modulating electrocardiographic traits (QRS, QT, and RR intervals).

Association analyses of 249,796 individuals reveal 18 new loci associated with body mass index

Elizabeth K. Speliotes, +413 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined associations between body mass index and similar to 2.8 million SNPs in up to 123,865 individuals with targeted follow up of 42 SNPs and up to 125,931 additional individuals.
