TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a smart segregation system which will notify the garbage boy after reaching the amount of waste at a certain level, if waste is not collected from that smart bin in time, the system will send a notification to the City Corporation.
Abstract: The increase in the generation of waste due to the continuous growth of urbanization and industrialization has become a severe problem for the government. Population density, lifestyles, economic conditions have a great impact on alarming waste composition. Hence, waste segregation is necessary to save our environment. The traditional manual method used for the segregation of waste in Bangladesh is time-consuming and can have adverse effects on the health of the involved people. Proper segregation can bring the economic values of the wastes as well. The proposed smart segregation system will notify the garbage boy after reaching the amount of waste at a certain level. If waste is not collected from that smart bin in time, the system will send a notification to the City Corporation. The proposed system will help to reduce the intensity of greenhouse gases as well. The system will consume electricity when an absence of sunlight, otherwise it consumes solar energy which saves energy consumption on sunny days.

TL;DR: In this article, a single-fed linearly polarized 2x2 microstrip bow tie array antenna is proposed, where the feed network has microstrip line and slot line where microstrip-slot branch circuit is connected in parallel.
Abstract: A single-fed linearly polarized 2x2 microstrip bow tie array antenna is proposed. The feed network has microstrip line and slot line where microstrip-slot branch circuit is connected in parallel. The feed network of the array is designed using both-sided MIC Technology to overcome the impedance matching problem of conventional feed networks. The 2x2 half bow tie array antenna is also truncated with spur lines for optimization of antenna performance. The array antenna unit can be realized in very simple and compact structure, as all the antenna elements and the feeding circuit is arranged on a Teflon glass fiber substrate without requiring any external network. The design frequency of the proposed antenna is 5 to 8 GHz (C-Band) and the obtained peak gain is 12.41 dBi. The resultant axial ratio indicates that linear polarization is achieved.

TL;DR: In this article, a new circularly polarized microstrip array antenna using the orthogonal feed technique is proposed, which has a multi-layer structure and a new 3-way power divider employing the both-sided microwave integrated circuit technology is designed to configure the feed network of the array.
Abstract: A new circularly polarized microstrip array antenna using the orthogonal feed technique is proposed in this paper. The antenna has a multi-layer structure and a new 3-way power divider employing the both-sided microwave integrated circuit technology is designed to configure the feed network of the array. Circular polarization (CP) is realized by creating a quadrature phase difference between orthogonal feed circuits of the patches. The multi-layer structure gives flexibility to adjust the patch spacing that helps to reduce the sidelobe level of the antenna. It is found that the multi-layer structure exhibits a gain of about 2 dB higher than that of a single layer structure by means of sidelobe reduction. The proposed structure also exhibits good CP performances that are verified by a good agreement of measured and simulated results. Simple and compact structure makes the antenna suitable for various wireless applications.

TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive analysis on the numerous membrane technologies for wastewater pretreatment processes is presented, which can play an excellent role in near future effectively for wastewater treatment, purification, and resource recovery in chemical, biochemical, food, and manufacturing industrial sector.
Abstract: Water scarcity for industrial utilization has been appeared as a global issue in this modern era. Different types of wastewater containing heavy metals are continuously contaminating water. To resolve this contamination, various technologies have been adopted to reduce and among them membrane technologies have been considered more effective compared to conventional wastewater treatment technologies due to the isolation capability of nutrients and heavy metals at low concentration. This study demonstrated the comprehensive analysis on the numerous membrane technologies for wastewater pretreatment processes. Furthermore, recovering valuable resources such as nutrients through membrane technologies has been outlined in this chapter what could lead to economic and environmental feasibility. The overview of this chapter summarized that wastewater treatment and resource recovery via implementations of membrane technologies can play an excellent role in near future effectively for wastewater treatment, purification, and resource recovery in chemical, biochemical, food, and manufacturing industrial sector.

TL;DR: In this paper , the effects of ambiguity tolerance and confusion avoidance on consumers' acquisition of knowledge of farmed fish were investigated. But the authors did not consider the personal and socio-economic factors associated with consumers' value perception of FF knowledge.
Abstract: The global decline in wild fish has given impetus to the rapid growth of seafood produced by aquaculture, as well as of farmed fish (FF). Although product knowledge is directly linked to fish consumption, continuous asymmetric information leads to consumer ambiguity and confusion regarding their knowledge of farmed fish. However, ambiguity tolerance (AT) and confusion avoidance (CA) as personal and relevant socio-economic factors positively affect fish consumption. Despite such potential of these factors, little research has investigated if the personal and socio-economic factors are associated with consumers' value perception of FF knowledge. Therefore, this study analyses the effects of AT, CA and socio-economic factors on consumers’ acquisition of knowledge of farmed fish. A total sample of 1041 households from the two major Bangladeshi urban areas of Dhaka and Chittagong were interviewed using a structured questionnaire. The data were analysed employing exploratory factor analysis and the ordered probit regression model. The findings reveal that AT affects FF knowledge positively and significantly but that CA does not. Individuals with a high level of fish consumption and who do their fish shopping personally are more likely to gather FF knowledge. However, those who buy fish from the supermarket and are members of an environmental organisation are not interested in doing so. The findings also lead to significant managerial implications for improving ways to develop substantial factors to increase FF knowledge and the consumption of such fish, which will benefit consumers and the aquaculture industry.
