TL;DR: A robotic framework is developed which consists of four major modules: robot control, face detection, gaze awareness and gaze tracking respectively which helps the robot nods it’s head to show gaze awareness to the human which helps her/him to feel that s/he made eye contact.
Abstract: Making eye contact is one of the most essential requirements to begin any interaction and to continue flow of a communication in human-robot and human-human communication. Simply face-to-face or eye-to-eye orientation (i.e., gaze crossing) seems enough to set up eye contact sometimes but displaying gaze awareness also a vital function to make an effective eye contact episode. This paper presents a robotic framework for bidirectional eye contact mechanism by considering two cases: human initiative and robot initiative. In order to verify the usefulness of the propose model, a robotic framework is developed which consists of four major modules: robot control, face detection, gaze awareness and gaze tracking respectively. The robot nods it’s head to show gaze awareness to the human which helps her/him to feel that s/he made eye contact. We present three methods to show the efficacy of the proposed framework. Experimental evaluation with 24 participants shows that the proposed framework is successful in establishing eye contact with 100% accuracy for human initiative case and 87.5% accuracy for robot initiative case respectively.

TL;DR: In this article, the nucleation and growth mechanism of cobalt (Co) and iron (Fe) silicide nanoparticles from metals themselves in an induction thermal plasma reactor at atmospheric pressure has been described.
Abstract: The nucleation and growth mechanism of cobalt (Co) and iron (Fe) silicide nanoparticles from metals themselves in an induction thermal plasma reactor at atmospheric pressure has been described. The parameters which affected the metal composition of silicides, particle size distributions and morphology of silicide nanoparticles have also been discussed. It was found that synthesized Co silicides have large particle size distribution than that of Fe silicides, and Co silicides formation strongly depended on quenching position but Fe silicides did not.

TL;DR: In this chapter, an audio watermarking method in lifting wavelet transform (LWT) domain based on Schur decomposition (SD) is introduced and it outperforms state-of-the-art methods in terms of imperceptibility, robustness, and data payload.
Abstract: Chapter 5 proposes an audio watermarking method based on LWT and Schur decomposition (SD). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first audio watermarking method based on LWT, SD, and quantization jointly. Initially, the watermark data are preprocessed to enhance the confidentiality of the proposed method. Then, the original audio is segmented into nonoverlapping frames and LWT is applied to each frame. SD is applied to the selected low-frequency LWT coefficients represented in a matrix form. Watermark data are embedded into the largest element of the upper triangular matrix obtained from the selected LWT coefficients of each frame. Experimental results confirm that the embedded data are highly robust against various attacks. Moreover, it shows superior performance than the state-of-the-art watermarking methods reported recently. In this chapter, an audio watermarking method in lifting wavelet transform (LWT) domain based on Schur decomposition (SD) is introduced. The main features of the proposed method are: (i) it utilizes the LWT and SD jointly, (ii) it uses Gaussian map, containing the chaotic characteristic to enhance the confidentiality of the proposed scheme, (iii) watermark extraction process is blind, (iv) subjective and objective evaluations reveal that the proposed scheme maintains high audio quality, and (v) it achieves a good trade-off among imperceptibility, robustness, and data payload. Experimental results indicate that the proposed watermarking scheme is highly robust against various attacks such as noise addition, cropping, re-sampling, re-quantization, and MP3 compression. Moreover, it outperforms state-of-the-art methods [9–10, 14–16, 20, 23–24, 26] in terms of imperceptibility, robustness, and data payload. The data payload of the proposed scheme is 172.39 bps, which is relatively higher than that of the state-of-the-art methods.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate the electrical breakdown phenomena of electrically detached contacts when the state of operation is vacuum or tends to vacuum, which consequently leads the permissible leakage current for home appliances to exceed the safety limit, henceforth leaning towards an uncertain inchoate of sparking on bare surfaces of compressor terminals.
Abstract: This experiment succors to comprehend the electrical breakdown phenomena of electrically detached contacts when the state of operation is vacuum or tends to vacuum. Which consequently leads the permissible leakage current for home appliances to exceed the safety limit, henceforth lean towards an uncertain inchoate of sparking on bare surfaces of compressor terminals. The whole action had been performed in a purely sealed industrial atmosphere.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors tried to shed some light on the tribulations behind the scarcity of safe drinking water, dirt free as well as sustainable latrine and drainage system and offensive water management.
Abstract: Abstract Low income community development is the prerequisite for the overall development of a society. There are different kinds of parameters to widen community development, such as health, economic, social, a living pattern, etc. Sanitation condition is the crucial aspect that is directly or indirectly inter bond with all the parameters. To see the exact reasons behind brutal unhygienic sanitation conditions of water supply and latrine system in a low cost community, the Chittagong City Corporation area has been picked. Relevant data have been collected from field survey, consultancy with inhabitants, Chittagong City Corporation, Power Development Board, and WASA. To know the possible reasons behind the water supply and germ-infested sanitation, state of a low cost community, this paper attempts to shed some light on the tribulations behind the scarcity of safe drinking water, dirt free as well as sustainable latrine and drainage system and offensive water management. Streszczenie Obszary takie jak rozwój gospodarczy, bariery społeczne, standard życia i zdrowie, ściśle związane są ze stanem wyposażenia sanitarnego. W artykule dokonano analizy warunków sanitarnych związanych z zaopatrzeniem w wodę i odprowadzeniem ścieków dla społeczności o niskich dochodach w obszarze Chittagong City Corporation. Dane zostały zebrane podczas ankietowych badań terenowych, rozmów z mieszkańcami, z bazy Chittagong City Corporation, Power Development Board i WASA.
