Abstract: Low-temperature plasma physics and technology are diverse and interdisciplinary fields. The plasma parameters can span many orders of magnitude and applications are found in quite different areas of daily life and industrial production. As a consequence, the trends in research, science and technology are difficult to follow and it is not easy to identify the major challenges of the field and their many sub-fields. Even for experts the road to the future is sometimes lost in the mist. Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics is addressing this need for clarity and thus providing guidance to the field by this special Review article, The 2012 Plasma Roadmap.

Abstract: In this paper, we contrast the value-belief-norm (VBN) model and the theory of planned behavior (TPB) for the first time regarding their ability to explain conservation behavior. The participants represent a convenience sample of 468 university students. Using survey data and adopting previously established compound measures, structural equation analyses revealed a remarkable explanatory power for both theories: TPB's intention accounted for 95% of people's conservation behavior and VBN's personal norms accounted for 64%. Compared to the VBN model, the TPB covered its concepts more fully in terms of proportions of explained variance. More importantly, the fit statistics revealed that only the TPB depicts the relations among its concepts appropriately, whereas the VBN model does not.

Abstract: Recently, research on hybrid organometal halide perovskites
for photovoltaic applications has delivered impressive growth
in power conversion effi ciencies (PCEs) with a current certifi
ed record of 17.9% and growing. [ 1–6 ] Key advantages of perovskites
devices, together with high PCEs, are represented by
the ease of the solution processing steps and their low temperature
(<140 °C). [ 7,8 ] These values enable the fabrication
on plastic substrates, [ 9 ] compatible with a continuous roll-toroll
manufacturing which can potentially contribute to dramatically
lower the production costs of large area modules. [ 10 ]
Moreover, fl exible devices can also be conformed to curved
surfaces to enhance power conversion densities. [ 11,12 ]
