TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an overview of recent studies on quantum dot-sensitized solar cells and provide suggestions to improve QDSSCs by explicitly comparing different sensitizers.
Abstract: Quantum dot-sensitized solar cells (QDSSCs) are renowned energy devices known for their distinct qualities, including (i) the ability to harvest sunlight that generates multiple electron–hole pairs, (ii) simplicity in fabrication, and (iii) low cost. The power conversion efficiency (η) rates of many QDSSCs are lower than those of dye-sensitized solar cells, reaching a maximum of 12% as a result of narrow absorption ranges and of the charge recombination occurring at the QD– and TiO2–electrolyte interfaces. New types of sensitizers are necessary to be developed to further increase the η of QDSSCs. Semiconductor QDs are the most applicable material for photosensitization because of their high absorption and the obtained emission spectra that can be manipulated by varying dot sizes. This paper presents an overview of recent studies on QDSSC photosensitization and provides suggestions to improve QDSSCs by explicitly comparing different sensitizers. Particular focus is directed on the behavior of several important types of semiconductor nanomaterials (sensitizers such as CdS, Ag2S, CdSe, CdTe, CdHgTe, InAs, and PbS) and other nanomaterials that are TiO2, ZnO, and carbon-based species. These materials are developed to enhance the electron transfer efficiency of QDSSCs. Understanding the mechanism of various photosensitization processes can provide design guidelines for future successful applications.

TL;DR: Adherence to medication in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in the primary health clinics was found to be poor and this is a cause of concern, because nonadherence could lead to a worsening of disease.
Abstract: Purpose Diabetes mellitus is a growing global health problem that affects patients of all ages. Even though diabetes mellitus is recognized as a major chronic illness, adherence to antidiabetic medicines has often been found to be unsatisfactory. This study was conducted to assess adherence to medications and to identify factors that are associated with nonadherence in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients at Primary Health Clinics of the Ministry of Health in Malaysia.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss various existing treatment processes (mainly anaerobic and aerobic digestion, physicochemical treatment and membrane separation) and factors that influence the treatment methods and conversion of POME to renewable biogas such as biomethane and biohydrogen.
Abstract: Palm oil is an important edible oil in the global fats and oil market and its industry is also one of the prominent global agricultural industries. The production of crude palm oil reached 62.34 million tonnes in 2014. However, enormous volumes of production has subsequently discharged large volumes of a palm oil mill effluent (POME). POME is a remarkably contaminating effluent due to its high amount of COD, BOD and colour concentrations, which can affect the environment, especially water resources. However, it was recognized as a prospective source of renewable biogas such as biomethane and biohydrogen. Nowadays, with the global emphasis on sustainability, if we simultaneously operate wastewater treatment and produced renewable bio energy in the palm oil industry, then this industry can be environmentally sound, with cleaner production and greater sustainability. The aim of this review is to discuss various existing treatment processes (mainly anaerobic and aerobic digestion, physicochemical treatment and membrane separation) and factors that influence the treatment methods and conversion of POME to renewable biogas such as biomethane and biohydrogen on a commercial scale.
