TL;DR: The work intended to design and develop an automated and manual AC system working in remote and local mode, to increase the level of comfort, easy operation, reducing human intervention and faults occurring in the system.
Abstract: In the era of automation, most of the application of engineering and science are interrelated with system for optimal operation. To get the efficient result of an operation and desired response, interconnected systems should be controlled by directing, regulating and commanding. Here, air conditioning (AC) system is considered for experimentation, to supervise and control its functioning in both, automated and manual mode. This paper reports the work intended to design and develop an automated and manual AC system working in remote and local mode, to increase the level of comfort, easy operation, reducing human intervention and faults occurring in the system. The Programmable Logical Controller (PLC) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system were used for remote supervision and monitoring of AC systems using series ninety protocol and remote terminal unit modbus protocol as communication module to operate in remote mode. PLC was used as remote terminal for continuous supervision and control of AC system. SCADA software was used as a tool for designing user friendly graphical user interface. The proposed SCADA AC system successfully monitors and controls in accordance within the parameter limits like temperature, pressure, humidity and voltage. With all the features, this designed system is capable of efficient handling of the resources like the compressor, humidifier etc., with all the levels of safety and durability. This system also maintains the temperature and controls the humidity of the remote location and also looks after the health of the compressor.

TL;DR: Antiangiogenic effect of 3a–c showed reduction in ascites volume, cell number, and induced apoptotic bodies in EAT cells in tested animals and growth inhibition of the HeLa cells and antiangiogenesis was mediated by promoting apoptosis which was confirmed by DNA fragmentation study.
Abstract: In this study, three, bisarylidene cyclopentanones (curcumin analogs) 3a–c are synthesized by Claisen Schmidt condensation reaction. Antiangiogenic effects of the compounds were studied in Ehrlich ascites tumor (EAT) cells transplanted mouse in vivo. Antiangiogenic effect of 3a–c showed reduction in ascites volume, cell number, and induced apoptotic bodies in EAT cells in tested animals. The antiproliferative effects of the 3a–c were determined at different concentrations by MTT assay on HepG2 and HeLa cells. The compounds showed significant antiproliferative activity at 40 μM concentration. Compound 3a (fluoro derivative) showed highest antiproliferative effect with the IC50 value 39 and 48 μm for HeLa and HepG2, respectively. Growth inhibition of the HeLa cells and antiangiogenesis was mediated by promoting apoptosis which was confirmed by DNA fragmentation study.

TL;DR: In this paper, a three-dimensional computational study has been carried out on the combustion chamber of a NG-dieseldual fuel engine and the results showed that the maximum pressure inside the cylinder increased from 129 to 131 bar when the spray angle was varied from 100° to 150° at a crank angle of 360°.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the harmonic elimination technique for a fifteen level cascaded multilevel inverter (CMLI) supplied with the seven varying DC input sources, where the harmonic equations are solved and switching angles are obtained in such a way that the fundamental is kept constant and lower order harmonics are minimized or eliminated.
Abstract: This paper presents the harmonic elimination technique for a fifteen level cascaded multilevel inverter (CMLI) supplied with the seven varying DC input sources. Here, the input supply sources are obtained from the solar Photovoltaic’s (PV). The harmonic equations are solved and switching angles are obtained in such a way that the fundamental is kept constant and lower order harmonics are minimized or eliminated. The data set with varying input DC voltages and switching angles are trained with Artificial Neural Network (ANN). This trained network is integrated with CMLI to improve the power quality. The modeling of solar panel which serves as the input to the CMLI is developed. A eleven level CMLI with five varying DC input sources and a set of multiple carrier Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) methods are also given for comparison. The results show that ANN based method provides a significant improvement with respect to the reduction of Total Harmonic Distortion (THD).

TL;DR: A simple, selective and sensitive spectrophotometric method is proposed for the determination of widely used organochlorine pesticide endosulfan using thionin and methylene blue as chromogenic reagents.
Abstract: A simple, selective and sensitive spectrophotometric method is proposed for the determination of widely used organochlorine pesticide endosulfan using thionin and methylene blue as chromogenic reagents. The method is based on the liberation of sulfur dioxide from endosulfan by adding acid reagent and alcoholic potassium hydroxide. The liberated sulfur dioxide is passed through potassium iodate solution and the iodine so liberated bleaches the violet color of thionin and blue color of methylene blue and is measured at 600 nm and 665 nm respectively. This decrease in absorbance is directly proportional to the endosulfan concentration. The Beer’s law is obeyed in the range of 0.4–7.0 and 0.2–9.0 μg mL−1 of endosulfan using thionin and methylene blue as reagents respectively. The molar absorptivity and Sandell’s sensitivity were found to be 1.05 × 105 and 5.03 × 104 L mol−1 cm−1, 3.85 × 10−3 and 8.10 × 10−3 μg cm−2 of endosulfan using thionin and methylene blue as reagents respectively. The method has been applied for the determination of endosulfan in water, soil and vegetables.
