TL;DR: In this article, the problem of electron transport in a disordered single-layer graphene sheet was studied using the recursive Green's function method, and it was shown that the conductivity is of order (e}^{2}∕h$ and its dependence on the carrier density has a scaling form controlled solely by the disorder strength and the ratio between the sample size and the correlation length of the disorder potential.
Abstract: Using the recursive Green's function method, we study the problem of electron transport in a disordered single-layer graphene sheet. The conductivity is of order ${e}^{2}∕h$ and its dependence on the carrier density has a scaling form that is controlled solely by the disorder strength and the ratio between the sample size and the correlation length of the disorder potential. The shot noise Fano factor is shown to be nearly density independent for sufficiently strong disorder, with a narrow structure appearing at the neutrality point only for weakly disordered samples. Our results are in good agreement with experiments and provide a way for extracting microscopic information about the magnitude of extrinsic disorder in graphene.

TL;DR: The mammalian cell vacuolating activity of the Vibrio cholerae hemolysin is a new property of this protein and points to a previously unknown type of interaction between V. Cholerae and its host.
Abstract: A Vibrio cholerae cytotoxin, designated VcVac, was found to cause vacuolation in Vero cells. It was originally detected in the pathogenic O1 Amazonia variant of V. cholerae and later shown to be produced in environmental strains and some El Tor strains. Comparison of VcVac production in various strains suggested that hemolysin was responsible for the vacuolating phenotype. Genetic experiments established a firm correlation between vacuolation and hemolysin production. The mammalian cell vacuolating activity of the V. cholerae hemolysin is a new property of this protein and points to a previously unknown type of interaction between V. cholerae and its host.

TL;DR: Active participation is needed by the Ministry of Health, using existing genetic services as the backbone, in order to develop a regionalized, hierarchical, and functional network related to birth defects in Brazil.
Abstract: Birth defects have increased progressively in Brazil, shifting from the fifth to the second cause of infant mortality from 1980 to 2000, thus highlighting the need for specific health policy strategies. Some governmental and nongovernmental actions related to birth defects in Brazil include information services on teratogenic agents and inborn errors of metabolism, monitoring of birth defects, neonatal screening and treatment of some genetic diseases, and rubella immunization. In addition, flour fortification with folic acid for prevention of certain birth defects has begun recently. Despite the importance of such initiatives, it is still difficult to view birth defects from a comprehensive perspective. A specific national policy on birth defects must be formulated. Active participation is needed by the Ministry of Health, using existing genetic services as the backbone, in order to develop a regionalized, hierarchical, and functional network related to birth defects in Brazil.

TL;DR: In this paper, two optimal control problems (mono- and multi-objective) to determine a strategy for vaccine administration in COVID-19 pandemic treatment are proposed, the first consists of minimizing the quantity of infected individuals during the treatment, and the second considers minimizing together the quantity and the prescribed vaccine concentration during treatment.

TL;DR: The UERJ Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) as discussed by the authors proposes a programa amplo de atencao integral a saude do idoso.
