TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a methodology called Design for Skin and Shape (DfS&S), which is focused on the package design industry and offers significant advantage towards its success.
Abstract: Although all aspects of a product design are demanding and need several resources to be completed, Design for X (DfX) represents a series of formal methodologies used to optimize a specific aspect of the product design under consideration. Those DfX tools deal with different stages of the product design and there is considerable gap concerning the package design cycle. The proposed methodology Design for Skin and Shape (DfS&S) is focused on the package design industry and offers significant advantage towards its success. It helps the designers to be focused on shapes that are easily recognized by the customers and then create appropriate graphics for them. Following this approach, it is easier to create an innovative optical identity for the product and its packaging during the conceptual stage. The methodology can reduce the development time of the package, while designers have in mind, from the beginning of the design process, the shape which will guide them to its completion. Following the proposed methodology different packaging designs are presented.

TL;DR: This paper adopts nine dimensions of u-learning, and suggests indexes and metrics for the assessment of ubiquitous and interactive video courses according to the learners’ interactions.
Abstract: High success is the main objective of any education system. Thus, in any educational organization, the education offered must be efficient and effective. It is evident that some factors are critical for such achievements. Ubiquitous learning systems and interactive video courses incorporate features which can be measured using learning analytics. In this paper, we adopt nine dimensions of u-learning. According to the learners’ interactions, we suggest indexes and metrics for the assessment of ubiquitous and interactive video courses. These indexes and metrics are associated with the presented u-learning dimensions. The proposed metrics are calculated for a case study in a higher education institute, and the results are explained and associated with the introduced u-learning dimensions.

TL;DR: In this paper, the neutrino-nucleus reactions cross sections, obtained for neutrinos energies in the range of 100-120$ MeV (low and intermediate-energy range), are presented and discussed.
Abstract: Neutrino-nucleus reactions cross sections, obtained for neutrino energies in the range $\varepsilon_{ u}\leq 100-120$ MeV (low- and intermediate-energy range), which refer to promising neutrino detection targets of current terrestrial neutrino experiments, are presented and discussed. At first, we evaluated original cross sections for elastic scattering of neutrinos produced from various astrophysical and laboratory neutrino sources with the most abundant Cd isotopes $^{112}$Cd, $^{114}$Cd and $^{116}$Cd. These isotopes constitute the main material of the COBRA detector aiming to search for neutrinoless double beta decay events and neutrino-nucleus scattering events at the Gran Sasso laboratory (LNGS). The coherent $ u$-nucleus reaction channel addressed with emphasis here, dominates the neutral current $ u$-nucleus scattering, events of which have only recently been observed for a first time in the COHERENT experiment at Oak Ridge. Subsequently, simulated $ u$-signals expected to be recorded at Cd detectors are derived through the application of modern simulation techniques and employment of reliable neutrino distributions of astrophysical $ u$-sources (as the solar, supernova and Earth neutrinos), as well as laboratory neutrinos (like the reactor neutrinos, the neutrinos produced from pion-muon decay at rest and the $\beta$-beam neutrinos produced from the acceleration of radioactive isotopes at storage rings as e.g. at CERN).

TL;DR: The tool applies formal techniques to transform behavioral ADA specifications into RTL micro-architectures which then can be easily implemented by commercial RTL synthesizers.
Abstract: In this contribution, behavioral synthesis tools are used for hardware implementation of a cellular neural network with the ability to accomplish image processing tasks in real time. Behavioral synthesis tools such as the CCC HLS framework can deliver correct-by-construction RTL VHDL implementations of computation-intensive applications such as image processing and cellular neural networks. The tool applies formal techniques to transform behavioral ADA specifications into RTL micro-architectures which then can be easily implemented by commercial RTL synthesizers. Example applications such as, edge-detection, half toning and morphological operations, validate the presented contribution.
