Abstract
Two data sources--self-reports and peer ratings--and two instruments--adjective factors and questionnaire scales--were used to assess the five-factor model of personality. As in a previous study of self-reports (McCrae & Costa, 1985b), adjective factors of neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness-antagonism, and conscientiousness-undirectedness were identified in an analysis of 738 peer ratings of 275 adult subjects. Intraclass correlations among raters, ranging from .30 to .65, and correlations between mean peer ratings and self-reports, from .25 to .62, showed substantial cross-observer agreement on all five adjective factors. Similar results were seen in analyses of scales from the NEO Personality Inventory. Items from the adjective factors were used as guides in a discussion of the nature of the five factors. These data reinforce recent appeals for the adoption of the five-factor model in personality research and assessment.

Structure of act-report data: Is the five-factor model of personality recaptured?

TL;DR: Correlations between the derived act factors and trait ratings from 6 data sources support a reinterpretation of the traditional trait labels and the implications of different assumptions on the formulation of a basic model of personality structure are discussed.

Behavioural measures of frontal lobe function in a population of young social drinkers with binge drinking pattern.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the cognitive abilities of binge and non-binge drinkers in tasks which test functions linked to discrete areas of the prefrontal cortex, and found that female binge drinkers were more impaired than non-binge drinkers.

Trait negative affect: toward an integrated model of understanding psychological risk for impairment in cardiac autonomic function.

TL;DR: Positive affect as a common pathway between depression, anxiety, and anger and impairments in cardiac autonomic function was supported, suggesting negative affect may be the unifying and potentially toxic element linking individual trait negative emotions to ANS dysregulation.

Is low positive emotionality a specific risk factor for depression? A meta-analysis of longitudinal studies.

TL;DR: A meta-analysis of longitudinal studies to examine the relationship of Positive Emotionality constructs to depression and anxiety suggests that the prospective relationship of PE to depression may be weaker and less specific than previously assumed.

On Angry Leaders and Agreeable Followers How Leaders’ Emotions and Followers’ Personalities Shape Motivation and Team Performance

TL;DR: For example, the authors found that participants with lower levels of agreeableness responded more favorably to an angry leader, whereas participants with higher levels of agreement responded more positively to a neutral leader.

Personality and Assessment

Review of personality and social psychology

TL;DR: Shaver and Shaver as mentioned in this paper proposed a model and some cross-cultural data to understand the determinants of emotion in a multicomponent process and the central role of emotion.
