First stars V - abundance patterns from C to Zn and supernova yields in the early galaxy

TL;DR: In this paper, the abundance analysis of an homogeneous sample of 35 giants selected from the HK survey of Beers et al. was presented, emphasizing stars of extremely low metallicity: 30 of the 35 stars are in the range −4.1 < (Fe/H) < −2.7, and 22 stars have (Fe /H) ≥ −3.0.
Journal ArticleDOI

VISTA Variables in the Via Lactea (VVV): The public ESO near-IR variability survey of the Milky Way

Dante Minniti, +72 more
- 01 Jul 2010 -
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method to solve the problem of single-input single-output (SISO) communication in the context of artificial neural networks (ANNs).

The Gaia-ESO Public Spectroscopic Survey

Gerry Gilmore, +274 more
- 01 Mar 2012 -
TL;DR: The Gaia-ESO Public Spectroscopic Survey has begun and will obtain high quality spectroscopy of some 100000 Milky Way stars, in the field and in open clusters, down to magnitude 19, systematically.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Thirteenth Data Release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey: First Spectroscopic Data from the SDSS-IV Survey MApping Nearby Galaxies at Apache Point Observatory

Franco D. Albareti, +336 more
TL;DR: Data Release 13 (DR13) as mentioned in this paper is the first data release from SDSS-IV, which contains new data, reanalysis of existing data sets and, like all SDSs data releases, is inclusive of previously released data.
Journal ArticleDOI

The 13th Data Release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey: First Spectroscopic Data from the SDSS-IV Survey Mapping Nearby Galaxies at Apache Point Observatory

Franco D. Albareti, +400 more
TL;DR: Data Release 13 (DR13) as discussed by the authors provides the first 1390 spatially resolved integral field unit observations of nearby galaxies from the Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment 2 (APOGEE-2), Mapping Nearby Galaxies at APO (MaNGA), and the Extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey (eBOSS).
