Clinical Manifestation of Depression after Stroke: Is It Different from Depression in Other Patient Populations?
Janneke M. de Man-van Ginkel,Thóra B. Hafsteinsdóttir,Eline Lindeman,Mirjam I. Geerlings,Diederick E. Grobbee,Marieke J. Schuurmans +5 more
TL;DR: Comparing depressed patients of the three cohorts demonstrated broadly similar symptom profiles, as well as comparable levels of individual symptom prevalence, suggesting that depression after stroke is not a different type of depression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mutations in the HFE gene and cardiovascular disease risk: an individual patient data meta-analysis of 53 880 subjects
Daphne L. van der A,Maroeska M. Rovers,Diederick E. Grobbee,Joannes J.M. Marx,Jill Waalen,Christina Ellervik,Børge G. Nordestgaard,John K. Olynyk,Peter R. Mills,James Shepherd,Bernard Grandchamp,Jolanda M. A. Boer,Calogero Caruso,Marcello Arca,Beat J. Meyer,Yvonne T. van der Schouw +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors performed an individual patient data meta-analysis to investigate whether mutations in the hemochromatosis (HFE) gene increase cardiovascular disease risk, and they found no evidence for effect modification of the association between traditional cardiovascular risk factors and coronary events.
Journal ArticleDOI
HFE mutations and risk of coronary heart disease in middle-aged women.
Petra H.M. Peeters,Diederick E. Grobbee,Mark Roest,Joannes J.M. Marx,H. M. Voorbij,Y. T. van der Schouw +5 more
TL;DR: Data from a cohort of 15 236 Dutch middle‐aged women was used to investigate whether C282Y carriers and H63D carriers are at increased risk of coronary heart disease compared with non‐carriers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prospective meta-analysis of trials comparing fixed dose combination based care with usual care in individuals at high cardiovascular risk: The SPACE Collaboration
Ruth Webster,Anushka Patel,Laurent Billot,Alan Cass,Alan Cass,Carol Burch,Bruce Neal,Tim Usherwood,Simon Thom,Neil Poulter,Alice Stanton,Michiel L. Bots,Diederick E. Grobbee,Dorairaj Prabhakaran,Kolli Srinath Reddy,Jane Field,Chris Bullen,Carolyn Elley,Vanessa Selak,Natasha Rafter,Angela Wadham,Otavio Berwanger,Anthony Rodgers +22 more
TL;DR: The SPACE group of trials will assess whether a FDC strategy for delivery of preventive medication has the potential to significantly improve prevention of cardiovascular disease in patients at high risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Vitamin K intake and calcifications in breast arteries
Angela H.E.M. Maas,Yvonne T. van der Schouw,David Beijerinck,Jan J. M. Deurenberg,Willem P.Th.M. Mali,Diederick E. Grobbee,Yolanda van der Graaf +6 more
TL;DR: Calcifications in breast arteries are not associated with a lower dietary intake of Vitamin K, and after adjustment for aging, smoking, diabetes and dietary factors the association of mean Vitamin K2 intake with BAC was no longer significant.
