Effect of Vitamin C, Hydrocortisone, and Thiamine vs Hydrocortisone Alone on Time Alive and Free of Vasopressor Support Among Patients With Septic Shock: The VITAMINS Randomized Clinical Trial

TL;DR: Treatment with intravenous vitamin C, hydrocortisone, and thiamine did not significantly improve the duration of time alive and free of vasopressor administration in patients with septic shock, suggesting that treatment with the combination does not lead to a more rapid resolution of septicshock.
Journal ArticleDOI

Long-term (180-Day) Outcomes in Critically Ill Patients With COVID-19 in the REMAP-CAP Randomized Clinical Trial.

Simin Aysel Florescu, +1887 more
- 16 Dec 2022 -
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors evaluated the effect of multiple interventions for critically ill adults with COVID-19 on longer-term outcomes, using a bayesian piecewise exponential model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Potential Impact of the 2016 Consensus Definitions of Sepsis and Septic Shock on Future Sepsis Research.

Sandra L. Peake, +213 more
TL;DR: Most ARISE participants did not meet the Sepsis‐3 definition for septic shock at baseline, however, the majority fulfilled the new sepsis definition and mortality was higher than for participants not fulfilling the criteria.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oxygen targets and 6-month outcome after out of hospital cardiac arrest: a pre-planned sub-analysis of the targeted hypothermia versus targeted normothermia after Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest (TTM2) trial

Chiara Robba, +517 more
- 21 Oct 2022 -
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors describe the values of partial pressure of oxygen values (PaO 2 ) and the episodes of hypoxemia and hyperoxemia occurring within the first 72 h of mechanical ventilation in out of hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients.
