Genetic mechanisms of critical illness in Covid-19.

Erola Pairo-Castineira, +1449 more
- 04 Mar 2021 -
TL;DR: The GenOMICC (Genetics Of Mortality In Critical Care) genome-wide association study in 2244 critically ill Covid-19 patients from 208 UK intensive care units is reported, finding evidence in support of a causal link from low expression of IFNAR2, and high expression of TYK2, to life-threatening disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nrf2 is overexpressed in pancreatic cancer: implications for cell proliferation and therapy

TL;DR: Expression of Nrf2 is up-regulated in pancreatic cancer cell lines and ductal adenocarcinomas, which may reflect a greater intrinsic capacity of these cells to respond to stress signals and resist chemotherapeutic interventions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Coordination of adjacent domains mediates TACC3–ch-TOG–clathrin assembly and mitotic spindle binding

TL;DR: A phosphorylation-induced interaction of T ACC3 and clathrin coordinates adjacent domains in each protein to create a microtubule-binding interface, whereas a distinct site in TACC3 recruits ch-TOG to mitotic spindles.
Journal ArticleDOI

The distinct functions of CENP-C and CENP-T/W in centromere propagation and function in Xenopus egg extracts.

TL;DR: The results support the existence of 2 pathways for kinetochore assembly directed by C ENP-C and CENP-T/W, which can be reconstituted in Xenopus egg extracts, and the recruitment of Ndc80 and Mis12 is decreased.
