Ecosystem stability and compensatory effects in the Inner Mongolia grassland

TL;DR: The study provides new insights for better management and restoration of the rapidly degrading Inner Mongolia grassland and corroborate some previous findings of compensatory effects.
Journal ArticleDOI

The FLUXNET2015 dataset and the ONEFlux processing pipeline for eddy covariance data

Gilberto Pastorello, +303 more
- 09 Jul 2020 -
TL;DR: The FLUXNET2015 dataset provides ecosystem-scale data on CO 2 , water, and energy exchange between the biosphere and the atmosphere, and other meteorological and biological measurements, from 212 sites around the globe, and is detailed in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tradeoffs and thresholds in the effects of nitrogen addition on biodiversity and ecosystem functioning: evidence from inner Mongolia Grasslands

TL;DR: It is suggested that the critical threshold for N-induced species loss to mature Eurasian grasslands is below 1.75gNm 2 yr 1, and that changes in aboveground biomass, species richness, and plant functional group composition to both mature and degraded ecosystems saturate at N addition rates of approximately 10.5 gNm 2 yr 1.
Journal ArticleDOI

Primary production and rain use efficiency across a precipitation gradient on the Mongolia Plateau.

TL;DR: The results clearly indicate that the patterns of both ANPP and RUE are scale dependent, and the seemingly conflicting patterns of RUE in space vs. time suggest distinctive underlying mechanisms, involving interactions among precipitation, soil N, and biotic factors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Grassland ecosystems in China: review of current knowledge and research advancement

TL;DR: Major findings of scientific significance in China's grassland ecosystem research include: (i) improved knowledge on succession and biogeochemistry of the semi-arid and temperate grassland ecosystems, and (ii) development of effective management strategies for controlling rodent pests in grass land ecosystems.
