TL;DR: This study highlights the ability of nitrate-reducing Bacillus subtilis EWP-46 cell-free extract used for preparation of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) by reduction of silver ions into nano silver.
Abstract: This study highlights the ability of nitrate-reducing Bacillus subtilis EWP-46 cell-free extract used for preparation of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) by reduction of silver ions into nano silver. The production of AgNPs was optimized with several parameters such as hydrogen ion concentration, temperature, silver ion (Ag+ ion) and time. The maximum AgNPs production was achieved at pH 10.0, temperature 60 °C, 1.0 mM Ag+ ion and 720 min. The UV–Vis spectrum showed surface plasmon resonance peak at 420 nm, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM–EDX) spectra showed the presence of element silver in pure form. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) and transmission electron microscopy images illustrated the nanoparticle size, shape, and average particle size ranging from 10 to 20 nm. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy provided the evidence for the presence of biomolecules responsible for the reduction of silver ion, and X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed that the obtained nanoparticles were in crystalline form. SDS-PAGE was performed to identify the proteins and its molecular mass in the purified nitrate reductase from the cell-free extract. In addition, the minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum bactericidal concentration of AgNPs were investigated against gram-negative (Pseudomonas fluorescens) and gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus) bacteria.

TL;DR: In this paper, the ability of Pleurotus spp., P. sajor-caju; P. platypus and P. citrinopileatus to treat pulp and paper mill effluent on a laboratory and pilot scale were studied.
Abstract: In this work, the ability of Pleurotus spp.:P. sajor-caju; P. platypus and P. citrinopileatus to treat pulp and paper mill effluent on a laboratory and pilot scale were studied. On the laboratory scale treatment, P. sajor-caju decolorized the effluent by 66.7% on day 6 of incubation. Inorganic chloride liberated by P. sajor-caju was 230.9% (814.0 mg/dl) and the COD was reduced by 61.3% (1302.0 mg/dl) on day 10 of treatment. In the pilot scale treatment maximum decolorization was obtained by P. sajor-caju (60.1%) on day 6 of the incubation. Inorganic chloride content was increased by 524.0 mg/dl (113.0%) and the COD was reduced by 1442.0 mg/dl (57.2%) by P. sajor-caju on day 7 of incubation. These results revealed that the treatment of pulp and paper mill effluent by P. sajor-caju proved as better candidate for the purpose than P. platypus and P. citrinopileatus.

TL;DR: In this paper, the thermal stability and compound formation temperature were identified through thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and X-ray diffraction pattern elucidated the compound formation of Co2SnO4 with cubic structure.
Abstract: Co2SnO4 particles were synthesized by a sonochemical method under different pH conditions, followed by carbon coating by a hydrothermal method. The thermal stability and compound formation temperature were identified through thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern elucidated the compound formation of Co2SnO4 with cubic structure. Co2SnO4 encapsulated with carbon was confirmed through the TEM and HRTEM analysis and the approximate thickness of carbon was around 20 nm. The pristine-Co2SnO4 and carbon coated Co2SnO4 provided a discharge capacity of 777 mA h g−1 and 780 mA h g−1 at the current density of 40 mA g−1 with the capacity retention of 67% and 81% respectively in the 20th cycle. The charge transfer resistance of carbon coated Co2SnO4 was low when compared to pristine Co2SnO4 which lead to good reversibility of the material. The electrochemical study revealed the excellent electrochemical performance of the carbon coated Co2SnO4 particles with superior cycling stability and electronic conductivity.

TL;DR: Seeds of the tribal pulse,Mucuna gigantea, were analysed for proximate composition, total (true) seed proteins, seed protein fractionation, amino acid composition, minerals and antinutritional factors.
Abstract: Seeds of the tribal pulse,Mucuna gigantea, were analysed for proximate composition, total (true) seed proteins, seed protein fractionation, amino acid composition, minerals and antinutritional factors. Crude proteins, crude lipids, ash and nitrogen free extractives constituted 30.62%, 9.03%, 5.99% and 42.79%, respectively. The calorific values of 100 g dry matter of seed material is 374.91 kCal. The essential amino acids, leucine +isoleucine, are present in relatively large quantities. The seeds are rich in minerals like K, Ca, Mg and Fe. Antinutritional substances like total free phenols and tannins, trypsin inhibitor activity and haemagglutinating activity also were investigated.
