TL;DR: In this paper, the steady state of a driven diffusive lattice gas was characterized using a quantum Hamiltonian formalism, and it was shown that for arbitrary transition rates the model has product invariant measure.
Abstract: We characterize the steady state of a driven diffusive lattice gas in which each site holds several particles, and the dynamics is activated and asymmetric. Using a quantum Hamiltonian formalism, we show that for arbitrary transition rates the model has product invariant measure. In the steady state, a pairwise balance condition is shown to hold. Configurations n 00 and n 0 leading respectively into and out of a given configuration n are matched in pairs so that the flux of transitions from n 00 to n is equal to the flux from n to n 0 . Pairwise balance is more general than the condition of detailed balance and holds in the non-equilibrium steady state of a number of stochastic models.

TL;DR: An ant colony optimization based QoS aware energy balancing secure routing (QEBSR) algorithm for WSNs is proposed and improved heuristics for calculating the end-to-end delay of transmission and the trust factor of the nodes on the routing path are proposed.
Abstract: Existing routing protocols for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) focus primarily either on energy efficiency, quality of service (QoS), or security issues. However, a more holistic view of WSNs is needed, as many applications require both QoS and security guarantees along with the requirement of prolonging the lifetime of the network. The limited energy capacity of sensor nodes forces a tradeoff to be made between network lifetime, QoS, and security. To address these issues, an ant colony optimization based QoS aware energy balancing secure routing (QEBSR) algorithm for WSNs is proposed in this article. Improved heuristics for calculating the end-to-end delay of transmission and the trust factor of the nodes on the routing path are proposed. The proposed algorithm is compared with two existing algorithms: distributed energy balanced routing and energy efficient routing with node compromised resistance. Simulation results show that the proposed QEBSR algorithm performed comparatively better than the other two algorithms.

TL;DR: Computer-Aided Drug Design can assist researchers studying interactions between drugs and receptors and its applications towards the discovery of new drug candidates against various fatal NDs.
Abstract: Background Neurodegenerative disorders (NDs) are diverse group of disorders characterized by escalating loss of neurons (structural and functional). The development of potential therapeutics for NDs presents an important challenge, as traditional treatments are inefficient and usually are unable to stop or retard the process of neurodegeneration. Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD) has emerged as an efficient means of developing candidate drugs for the treatment of many disease types. Applications of CADD approach to drug discovery are progressing day by day. The recent tendency in drug design is to rationally design potent therapeutics with multi-targeting effects, higher efficacies, and fewer side effects, especially in terms of toxicity. Methods A wide literature search was performed for writing this review. An updated view on different types of NDs, their effect on human population and a brief introduction to CADD, various approaches involved in this technique, ranging from structural-based to ligand-based drug design has been discussed. The successful application of CADD approaches for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders is also included in this review. Results In this review, we have briefly described about CADD and its use in the development of the therapeutic drug candidates against NDs. The successful applications, limitations and future prospects of this approach have also been discussed. Conclusion CADD can assist researchers studying interactions between drugs and receptors. We believe this review will be helpful for better understanding of CADD and its applications towards the discovery of new drug candidates against various fatal NDs.

TL;DR: A framework for optimizing fault tolerance (FT) in virtualization in WSNs, focusing on heterogeneous networks for service-oriented IoT applications is proposed, and an adapted nondominated sorting-based genetic algorithm (A-NSGA) is developed to solve the optimization problem.
Abstract: Recently, virtualization in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) has witnessed significant attention due to the growing service domain for Internet of Things (IoT). Related literature on virtualization in WSNs explored resource optimization without considering communication failure in WSNs environments. The failure of a communication link in WSNs impacts many virtual networks running IoT services. In this context, this paper proposes a framework for optimizing fault tolerance (FT) in virtualization in WSNs, focusing on heterogeneous networks for service-oriented IoT applications. An optimization problem is formulated considering FT and communication delay as two conflicting objectives. An adapted nondominated sorting-based genetic algorithm (A-NSGA) is developed to solve the optimization problem. The major components of A-NSGA include chromosome representation, FT and delay computation, crossover and mutation, and nondominance-based sorting. Analytical and simulation-based comparative performance evaluation has been carried out. From the analysis of results, it is evident that the framework effectively optimizes FT for virtualization in WSNs.
