TL;DR: Preliminary phytochemical studies and chromatographic profiling may be helpful in further isolation and purification of lead compounds from different extracts in Desmostachya bipinnata.
Abstract: Context: Desmostachya bipinnata (L.) Stapf [Gramineae (Poaceae)] has been traditionally used to treat various disorders such as asthma, kidney stone, diarrhea, wound healing, etc. Objective: The present study involves pharmacognostic, botanical, and preliminary phytochemical examination of various plant parts and powders of D. bipinnata.Materials and methods: Leaves, stem, roots, underground and aerial part powders were microscopically examined. Pharmacognostic standardization parameters were determined as per the WHO guidelines. Parameters, including extractive value in different solvents, ash values, and loss on drying, were determined. Preliminary phytochemical studies, fluorescence analysis, and chromatographic profiling were performed for the correct identification of this crude drug and some of its phytoconstituents. Results: Microscopical studies showed various characteristic features including, collateral vascular bundle, bundle sheath cells, and bulliform cells in leaf, conjoint, collateral...

TL;DR: The other effects of Fagonia species include anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic and thrombolytic activities are observed.
Abstract: Desert plants are unique adaptation from environmental conditions. Fagonia is a genus of plant in the family zygophyllaceae with about 20 species around Mediterranean to India, S. Africa, California, Chili. The local name of fagonia is dhamasa. They are traditionally well known for the treatment of hemorrhoids, inflammation, sores, leprosy, open wounds and fever in the form of internal and external conventional formulation. When the powder that is made up of the whole plant of F. schweinfurthii is dusted on boils and skin eruptions, it causes healing, when the whole plant is boiled in water, its bath is useful for allergies and other skin diseases and decoction is given orally as blood purifier. The other species like Fagonia bruguieri its aqueous extract is claimed for anti-allergy. Methanolic extract of Fagonia cretica is claimed for good antimicrobial potential and it exhibited strong free radical scavenging properties against reactive oxygen and nitrogen species . The other effects of Fagonia species include anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic and thrombolytic activities are observed. Many chemical constituent's, such as triterpenoids, saponins, flavonoid glycosides, etc., have already been reported in different Fagonia spp.

TL;DR: In the present situation where there is continuous increment in the breast cancer cases and the expanding number of death cases the proposed strategy can be a guide in the determination of breast cancer.
Abstract: The breast cancer diagnostic and prognostic problems are mainly in the scope of the widely discussed classification problems. These problems have attracted many researchers in computational intelligence, data mining, and statistics fields. The objective of these predictions is to handle cases for which cancer has not recurred (censored data) as well as case for which cancer has recurred at a specific time. The proposed study uses Breast Cancer Wisconsin (Prognostic) Data Set for training and testing purpose. It has implemented holo entropy enable decision tree(HDT). The proposed strategy utilizes the training data to train the classifier. It categorizes each instance of breast cancer growth as recurrent or non recurrent. It ascertains the precision of the classifier to decide the exact classifier accuracy. In the present situation where there is continuous increment in the breast cancer cases and the expanding number of death cases the proposed strategy can be a guide in the determination of breast cancer.

TL;DR: The ester prodrugs of ketoprofen with various naturally available antioxidants; menthol, thymol, eugenol, guiacol, vanillin and sesamol, synthesized by the DCC coupling method showed improvement over the parent drug for anti-inflammatory, analgesic activities and ulcerogenicity.
Abstract: The ester prodrugs of ketoprofen with various naturally available antioxidants; menthol, thymol, eugenol, guiacol, vanillin and sesamol have been synthesized by the dicyclohexyl carbodiimide (DCC) coupling method, purified and characterized by spectral data. Further, their, partition coefficients have been determined as well as, hydrolytic studies performed. The synthesized compounds are more lipophilic compared to the parent moieties and are stable in acidic environment, which is a prerequisite for their oral absorption. Under gastric as well as intestinal pH conditions these prodrugs showed variable susceptibility towards hydrolysis. The title compounds when evaluated for anti-inflammatory, analgesic activities and ulcerogenicity, showed improvement over the parent drug.
