TL;DR: In this article, a conceptual paper providing an outsourcing scope framework and also a model for selecting an outsourcing destination country is presented, where the outsourcing location can be onshore, near shore, offshore or far shore.
Abstract: Global market for outsourcing of IT functions took off in late 1980s and for the last five years, global market for IT as well as IT Enabled Services has been growing steadily. IT functions include IS analysis, IS design, IS development, IS implementation and management of entire data centers. IT enabled service, also called Business Process Outsourcing, include functions like call centers, accounting, payroll, employee benefits, tax preparation, radiology analysis, films and cartoons production, and even research and development. Outsourcing location can be onshore, near shore, offshore or far shore. Outsourcing industry has been inventing itself in a myriad ways. This is a conceptual paper providing an outsourcing scope framework and also a model for selecting an outsourcing destination country.

Abstract: Two new heteroleptic palladium(II) complexes have been synthesized by reacting equimolar quantities of palladium(II) chloride, sodium 4-(2-methoxyphenyl)piperazine-1-carbodithioate and diphenyl-p-tolylphosphine (1) or tri-p-tolylphosphine (2). Complexes 1 and 2 have been characterized using elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, multinuclear NMR (1H, 13C and 31P) spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray analysis. The latter technique confirms a pseudo square-planar geometry in which two adjacent positions are occupied by bidentate dithiocarbamate while chloro and substituted triphenylphosphine are present at the remaining two positions. The anticancer activity of both complexes against five different cancer cell lines (LU – human lung carcinoma, established at UIC, Department of Surgical Oncology; MCF7 – human breast adenocarcinoma, ATCC number HTB-22™; MDA-MB-231 – human breast adenocarcinoma, ATCC number HTB-26™; Hepa-1c1c7 – mouse liver hepatoma, ATCC number CRL-2026™; PC-3 – human prostate adenocarcinoma, ATCC number CRL-1435™) was determined by MTT assay, revealing 2 has higher activity than 1. A drug–calf thymus DNA binding study with UV–visible spectroscopy reveals a higher DNA binding affinity of 2 (3.511 × 104 M−1) than 1 (4.213 × 103 M−1). Density functional theory studies confirm the relatively more stable nature of 2 than 1. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Abstract: We consider the problem of the gravitational waves produced by a particle of negligible mass orbiting a Kerr black hole. We treat the Teukolsky perturbation equation in the time domain numerically as a 2 + 1 partial differential equation. We model the particle by smearing the singularities in the source term by the use of narrow Gaussian distributions. We have been able to reproduce earlier results for equatorial circular orbits that were computed using the frequency-domain formalism. The time-domain approach is however geared for a more general evolution, for instance of nearly geodesic orbits under the effects of radiation reaction.

TL;DR: Physician-assisted suicide is perhaps the most compelling and clinically relevant mental health issue in palliative care today and the desire for death, the consideration of suicide, and the practice of PAS should be considered.
Abstract: BACKGROUND: Physician-assisted suicide (PAS) is perhaps the most compelling and clinically relevant mental health issue in palliative care today. The desire for death, the consideration of suicide, the interest in PAS, and the relationship of these issues to depression and other psychosocial issues appear to be of paramount importance. METHODS: Psychiatric and psychosocial perspectives are used to understand the factors contributing to the interest in PAS, as well as to guide interventions in the clinical care of patients with advanced disease. RESULTS: Research and clinical experience suggest that attending to issues of depression, social support, and other psychosocial issues in addition to pain and physical symptom control are critical elements in interventions that are useful in reducing the distress of patients who desire hastened death. CONCLUSIONS: Psychosocial and psychiatric issues are among the most powerful predictors of desire for death and interest in PAS. Evaluation and intervention in these areas, particularly depression, is a critical component of compassionate care.
