TL;DR: This review article focuses on the major recent developments in CPCs, including 3D printing, injectability, stem cell delivery, growth factor and drug delivery, and pre-vascularization of CPC scaffolds via co-culture and tri-culture techniques to enhance angiogenesis and osteogenesis.
Abstract: Calcium phosphate cements (CPCs) are frequently used to repair bone defects. Since their discovery in the 1980s, extensive research has been conducted to improve their properties, and emerging evidence supports their increased application in bone tissue engineering. Much effort has been made to enhance the biological performance of CPCs, including their biocompatibility, osteoconductivity, osteoinductivity, biodegradability, bioactivity, and interactions with cells. This review article focuses on the major recent developments in CPCs, including 3D printing, injectability, stem cell delivery, growth factor and drug delivery, and pre-vascularization of CPC scaffolds via co-culture and tri-culture techniques to enhance angiogenesis and osteogenesis.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the process e(+)e(-) -> (D* (D) over bar*)(+/-)pi(-/+) at a center-of-mass energy of 4.26 GeV using a 827 pb(-1) data sample obtained with the BESIII detector.
Abstract: We study the process e(+)e(-) -> (D* (D) over bar*)(+/-)pi(-/+) at a center-of-mass energy of 4.26 GeV using a 827 pb(-1) data sample obtained with the BESIII detector at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider. Based on a partial reconstruction technique, the Born cross section is measured to be (137 +/- 9 +/- 15) pb. We observe a structure near the (D* (D) over bar*)(+/-) threshold in the pi(-/+) recoil mass spectrum, which we denote as the Z(c)(+/-) (4025). The measured mass and width of the structure are (4026.3 +/- 2.6 +/- 3.7) MeV/c(2) and (24.8 +/- 5.6 +/- 7.7) MeV, respectively. Its production ratio sigma(e(+)e(-) -> Z(c)(+/-)(4025)pi(-/+)-> (D* (D) over bar*)(+/-)pi(-/+)/sigma(e(+)e(-) -> (D* (D) over bar*)(+/-)pi(-/+) is determined to be 0.65 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.06. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic.

TL;DR: A strong correlation was observed between the number of Y-STRs included in a marker set and some of the forensic parameters under study, and a weak but consistent trend toward smaller genetic distances resulting from larger numbers of markers became apparent.
Abstract: In a worldwide collaborative effort, 19,630 Y-chromosomes were sampled from 129 different populations in 51 countries. These chromosomes were typed for 23 short-tandem repeat (STR) loci (DYS19, DYS389I, DYS389II, DYS390, DYS391, DYS392, DYS393, DYS385ab, DYS437, DYS438, DYS439, DYS448, DYS456, DYS458, DYS635, GATAH4, DYS481, DYS533, DYS549, DYS570, DYS576, and DYS643) and using the PowerPlex Y23 System (PPY23, Promega Corporation, Madison, WI). Locus-specific allelic spectra of these markers were determined and a consistently high level of allelic diversity was observed. A considerable number of null, duplicate and off-ladder alleles were revealed. Standard single-locus and haplotype-based parameters were calculated and compared between subsets of Y-STR markers established for forensic casework. The PPY23 marker set provides substantially stronger discriminatory power than other available kits but at the same time reveals the same general patterns of population structure as other marker sets. A strong correlation was observed between the number of Y-STRs included in a marker set and some of the forensic parameters under study. Interestingly a weak but consistent trend toward smaller genetic distances resulting from larger numbers of markers became apparent.

TL;DR: A detailed comparison of classical, two-section, and stack-chain guiding strategies are chosen for comparison and the classical guiding strategy with a data structure of indexed interwoven linked list is the one to use.
Abstract: Quality-guided phase unwrapping is a widely used technique with different quality definitions and guiding strategies reported. It is thus necessary to do a detailed comparison of these approaches to choose the optimal quality map and guiding strategy. For quality maps, in the presence of noise, transform-based methods are found to be the best choice. However in the presence of discontinuities, phase unwrapping is itself unresolved and hence quality-guided phase unwrapping is not sufficient. For guiding strategies, classical, two-section, and stack-chain guiding strategies are chosen for comparison. If accuracy is the foremost criterion then the classical guiding strategy with a data structure of indexed interwoven linked list is best. If speed is of essence then the stack-chain guiding strategy is the one to use.
