TL;DR: The intelligent nanoparticle (IDDHN) was engineered by hyaluronidase-triggered size shrinkable hyaluronic acid shells, which were modified with NIR laser sensitive nitric oxide donor (HN), small-sized dendrimeric prodrug (IDD) of doxorubicin as chemotherapy agent and indocyanine green (ICG) as photothermal agent into a single nanoparticle.

TL;DR: It is shown that graphite oxide can be reduced with sodium hydrosulfite in a few minutes, with a degree of reduction comparable to those achieved with hydrazine.
Abstract: Inspired by an ancient reducing method used in textile production, sodium hydrosulfite was used to reduce graphite oxide as an efficient reducing agent in our work. The reduced materials were characterized by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, wide-angle x-ray scattering, Raman spectroscopy, solid state (13)C NMR spectroscopy and electrical conductivity measurements, respectively. The results showed that graphite oxide can be reduced with sodium hydrosulfite in a few minutes, with a degree of reduction comparable to those achieved with hydrazine. It provides an efficient method to reduce graphite oxide and could be used as a method to prepare novel composites.

TL;DR: Meta-analysis of all primary VBM studies indicates that significant gray matter reductions in MDD are localized in a distributed neural network which includes frontal, limbic and thalamic regions.
Abstract: Background: Voxel-based morphometry (VBM) has been widely used in studies of major depressive disorder (MDD) and has provided cumulative evidence of gray matter abnormalities in patients relative to controls. Thus we performed a meta-analysis to integrate the reported studies to determine the consistent gray matter alterations in MDD.

TL;DR: The authors used droplet-based microfluidic techniques to produce monodisperse poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) gel particles in the size range of 10-1000 µm.
Abstract: We use droplet-based microfluidic techniques to produce monodisperse poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) gel particles in the size range of 10–1000 µm. Our techniques offer exquisite control over both outer dimensions and inner morphology of the particles. We demonstrate this control by fabricating conventional microgels, microgels with embedded materials and voids, and gel microcapsules with single- and multi-phase cores. These techniques should be applicable for the synthesis of particles and capsules of a variety of chemical compositions and for the generation of higher order “supraparticles” by directed assembly of colloidal particles in droplets.
