TL;DR: Os resultados permitem inferir that a cinesioterapia laboral melhorou a dor lombar, diminuindo a sua intensidade, melhorando a capacidade funcional dos musculos estabilizadores do tronco e a amplitude of movimento articular.

TL;DR: Individuals in the most productive age group are most affected, which causes a great loss to financial and labor systems, and it is important to take measures to alert the public regarding the severity of injuries likely to occur in motorcycle-related accidents and ways to prevent them.
Abstract: OBJECTIVE: The objective of this research was to study the influence of the use of helmet in facial trauma victims of motorcycle accidents with moderate traumatic brain injury. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed the incidence of facial injuries in helmeted and nonhelmeted victims with moderate traumatic brain injury at a referral trauma hospital. RESULTS: The sample consisted of 272 patients predominantly men (94.5%) and between 21 and 40 years old (62.9%). The majority of patients were using helmet (80.1%). The occurrence of facial fractures was most frequent for zygomatic bone (51.8%), followed by mandible (18.8%) and nasal bones (9.2%). CONCLUSIONS: Individuals in the most productive age group are most affected, which causes a great loss to financial and labor systems. It is important to take measures to alert the public regarding the severity of injuries likely to occur in motorcycle-related accidents and ways to prevent them. Language: en

TL;DR: This work investigates the software aging effects in a Eucalyptus environment, considering workloads composed of intensive requests for attaching remote storage volumes to virtual machines and evidenced that memory leaks in Node Controller and the high CPU utilization by the KVM process are strongly correlated.
Abstract: Cloud computing systems fundamentally provide access to large pools of data and computational resources. Eucalyptus is a software framework used to implement private and hybrid-style Infrastructure as a Service clouds. It implements the Amazon Web Service (AWS) API, allowing interoperability with other AWS-based services. Elastic block storage (EBS) is a technology which provides flexible allocation of remote storage volumes to the virtual machines running in a cloud computing environment. Eucalyptus interacts with many software components to provide EBS features to the virtual machines: KVM hypervisor and Eucalyptus Node Controller (NC) are among those components. This work investigates the software aging effects in a Eucalyptus environment, considering workloads composed of intensive requests for attaching remote storage volumes to virtual machines. The results evidenced that memory leaks in Node Controller and the high CPU utilization by the KVM process are strongly correlated. The experimental analysis also show how much the aging effects are related to the performance degradation of a virtualized web server running on this infrastructure.

TL;DR: The hemodynamic parameters evaluated in third molar surgery with 2% lidocaine and 4% articaine (both with epinephrine 1:100,000) did not show significant differences and the only parameter to exhibit statistically significant differences between groups at different evaluation times was the pressure rate quotient.
Abstract: BackgroundAn increase in blood pressure during dental treatment has been investigated with regard to potential medical risks since previous studies suggest that dental procedures may cause stress to the patient and, consequently, the cardiovascular system. The aim of the present study was to analyze

TL;DR: The antimicrobial activity of the colloids containing silver nanoparticles against Streptococcus mutans was considered equivalent to that of chlorhexidine, the gold-standard antibiotic in dentistry.
Abstract: Silver nanoparticles stabilized with chitosan biopolymer are a new antibacterial agent for treatment of caries To determine whether the size and morphology of silver nanoparticles in colloidal solution altered their antimicrobial activity, four colored colloids were characterized by ultraviolet–visible (UV–Vis) spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and their antimicrobial activity [minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC)] against reference stocks of Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175 compared with chlorhexidine and silver diamine fluoride as controls TEM revealed that the seed solution (SS) contained only spherical nanoparticles with size of 87 ± 31 nm whereas the other colloids had predominantly spherical nanoparticle shape, although colloid 1 (S1) contained 25% triangular nanoparticles Colloid 2 (S2) had 159% triangular and 68% cylindrical nanoparticles, while 233% of the silver nanoparticles in colloid 3 (S3) were triangular and 15% were cylindrical All the silver nanoparticle colloids showed antimicrobial activity with no statistically significant differences (p > 005) in MIC or MBC The colloids showed antimicrobial activity higher than silver diamine fluoride (p 005) The size and shape of the nanoparticles did not affect the antimicrobial properties of the colored colloids Thus, the antimicrobial activity of the colloids containing silver nanoparticles against Streptococcus mutans was considered equivalent to that of chlorhexidine, the gold-standard antibiotic in dentistry
