TL;DR: In this article, the green synthesis of silver (AgNPs) and gold (AuNPs), by reduction of silver nitrate and chloroauric acid solutions, respectively, using fruit extract of Tanacetum vulgare ; commonly found plant in Finland, is reported.

TL;DR: It is shown that physically active lifestyle starts to develop very early in childhood and that the stability of PA is moderate or high along the life course from youth to adulthood.
Abstract: PurposeThe aim of the study was to investigate the tracking of physical activity (PA) from preschool age to adulthood in six age cohorts of males and females.MethodsA random sample of 3596 boys and girls age 3–18 yr participated in the Cardiovascular Risks in Young Finns Study in 1980. TL;DR: The results showed that a high level of psychological control exercised by mothers combined with high affection predicted increases in the levels of both internal and external problem behaviors among children.
Abstract: This study investigated the combination of mothers' and fathers' parenting styles (affection, behavioral control, and psychological control) that would be most influential in predicting their children's internal and external problem behaviors A total of 196 children (aged 5-6 years) were followed up six times from kindergarten to the second grade to measure their problem behaviors Mothers and fathers filled in a questionnaire measuring their parenting styles once every year The results showed that a high level of psychological control exercised by mothers combined with high affection predicted increases in the levels of both internal and external problem behaviors among children Behavioral control exercised by mothers decreased children's external problem behavior but only when combined with a low level of psychological control

TL;DR: This work demonstrates the potential of a new class of multivariate models for ecology to specify a statistical model for abundances jointly across many taxa, to simultaneously explore interactions across taxa and the response of abundance to environmental variables, and discusses recent computation tools and future directions.
Abstract: Technological advances have enabled a new class of multivariate models for ecology, with the potential now to specify a statistical model for abundances jointly across many taxa, to simultaneously explore interactions across taxa and the response of abundance to environmental variables. Joint models can be used for several purposes of interest to ecologists, including estimating patterns of residual correlation across taxa, ordination, multivariate inference about environmental effects and environment-by-trait interactions, accounting for missing predictors, and improving predictions in situations where one can leverage knowledge of some species to predict others. We demonstrate this by example and discuss recent computation tools and future directions.

TL;DR: A remarkable decline after the age of 12 in frequency of physical activity and sport participation is shown, and interventions are needed to assist young people in maintaining healthful levels ofPhysical activity.
Abstract: TELAMA, R., and X. YANG. Decline of physical activity from youth to young adulthood in Finland. Med. Sci. Sports Exerc., Vol. 32, No. 9, pp. 1617‐1622, 2000. Purpose: As a part of a nation-level research program, Cardiovascular Risk in Young Finns, the aim of this study was to analyze age-related decline of physical activity among Finnish young people. Methods: The number of subjects at the beginning of the study in 1980 was 2309, representing both genders and ages 9, 12, 15, and 18. The follow-up measurements were repeated in 1983, 1986, and 1989. Thus, the data cover ages from 9 to 27. To measure physical activity, a short self-report questionnaire was administrated in connection with medical examination. The questionnaire consisted of items concerning frequency and intensity of physical activity, way of spending leisure-time, and participation in organized sports. Using five items an index of physical activity was calculated. Results: The results showed a remarkable decline after the age of 12 in frequency of physical activity and sport participation, in particular. The self-reported intensity of physical activity increased with age. In younger age groups, the boys were more active than girls according to all variables, but the decline of activity was steeper among male than female subjects, and after the age of 15 the female subjects participated in physical activity more frequently than male subjects. Conclusion: Reasons for the decline need to be further studied, and interventions are needed to assist young people in maintaining healthful levels of physical
