TLDR
Applied cancer control measures are needed to reduce rates in HICs and arrest the growing burden in LMICs, as well as for lung, colorectal, breast, and prostate cancer, although some low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) now count among those with the highest rates.

ESMO International Consortium Study on the availability, out-of-pocket costs and accessibility of antineoplastic medicines in countries outside of Europe.

TL;DR: There is wide global variation in formulary availability, out-of-pocket expenditures and actual availability for most licensed anticancer medicines, particularly in low- and low-middle-income countries.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inhibition of the CCL5/CCR5 Axis against the Progression of Gastric Cancer.

TL;DR: This review summarizes recent information on the role of the CCL5 chemokine and its receptor CCR5 in GC cell proliferation, metastasis formation, and in the building of an immunosuppressive TME.
Journal ArticleDOI

Folic acid-functionalized polyethylenimine superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles as theranostic agents for magnetic resonance imaging and PD-L1 siRNA delivery for gastric cancer.

TL;DR: The findings highlight the potential of this class of multifunctional theranostic nanoparticles for effective targeted PD-L1-knockdown therapy and MRI diagnosis in gastric cancers.
Journal ArticleDOI

A comprehensive application: Molecular docking and network pharmacology for the prediction of bioactive constituents and elucidation of mechanisms of action in component-based Chinese medicine

TL;DR: In this review, emergent uses and applications of two techniques and further superiorities of the two techniques when embarked to boil down into a tidy system were illustrated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antitumor effect of thymoquinone combined with resveratrol on mice transplanted with breast cancer.

TL;DR: The combination of TQ and RES against breast cancer in mice can work synergistically and the anticancer effect of this combination is mediated by apoptosis induction, angiogenesis inhibition and immune modulation.

Estimates of worldwide burden of cancer in 2008: GLOBOCAN 2008.

TL;DR: The results for 20 world regions are presented, summarizing the global patterns for the eight most common cancers, and striking differences in the patterns of cancer from region to region are observed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reduced lung-cancer mortality with low-dose computed tomographic screening.

TL;DR: Screening with the use of low-dose CT reduces mortality from lung cancer, as compared with the radiography group, and the rate of death from any cause was reduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

The global health burden of infection-associated cancers in the year 2002.

TL;DR: The fraction of the different types of cancer, and of all cancers worldwide and in different regions, has been estimated using several methods; primarily by reviewing the evidence for the strength of the association (relative risk) and the prevalence of infection in different world areas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Changing patterns in the incidence of esophageal and gastric carcinoma in the United States

TL;DR: The authors update the incidence trends through 1994 and further consider the trends by age group.

What are the current global trends in advanced cancer incidence?

Advanced cancer incidence trends vary globally, with high-income countries showing higher rates for common cancers, while low- and middle-income countries face increasing rates due to lifestyle factors and infections.
