TLDR
Applied cancer control measures are needed to reduce rates in HICs and arrest the growing burden in LMICs, as well as for lung, colorectal, breast, and prostate cancer, although some low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) now count among those with the highest rates.

An update on Chinese herbal medicines as adjuvant treatment of anticancer therapeutics.

TL;DR: Some Chinese herbal medicines have a significant effect on reducing cancer-related fatigue and pain, improving peripheral neuropathy and gastrointestinal side effects including diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, decrease the incidence of bone marrow suppression, and protecting anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity and radiation-induced pneumonitis.
Journal ArticleDOI

NF-κB Signaling in Gastric Cancer

TL;DR: An overview about mechanisms and consequences of NF-κB activation in gastric mucosa is provided in order to understand the role of NF -κB in Gastric carcinogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Maturation of tertiary lymphoid structures and recurrence of stage II and III colorectal cancer.

TL;DR: It is concluded that mismatch repair and BRAF mutation status are associated with the formation of TLS in nmCRC, which follows sequential maturation steps, culminating in germinal center formation, and this maturation process harbors important prognostic information on the risk of disease recurrence.
Journal ArticleDOI

PSMA Ligands for PET-Imaging of Prostate Cancer

TL;DR: An educational overview on the current status of PSMA ligand PET imaging, including imaging procedure and interpretation, clinical indications, diagnostic potential, and impact on treatment planning is intended to give.

Estimates of worldwide burden of cancer in 2008: GLOBOCAN 2008.

TL;DR: The results for 20 world regions are presented, summarizing the global patterns for the eight most common cancers, and striking differences in the patterns of cancer from region to region are observed.

Reduced lung-cancer mortality with low-dose computed tomographic screening.

TL;DR: Screening with the use of low-dose CT reduces mortality from lung cancer, as compared with the radiography group, and the rate of death from any cause was reduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

The global health burden of infection-associated cancers in the year 2002.

TL;DR: The fraction of the different types of cancer, and of all cancers worldwide and in different regions, has been estimated using several methods; primarily by reviewing the evidence for the strength of the association (relative risk) and the prevalence of infection in different world areas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Changing patterns in the incidence of esophageal and gastric carcinoma in the United States

TL;DR: The authors update the incidence trends through 1994 and further consider the trends by age group.

What are the current global trends in advanced cancer incidence?

Advanced cancer incidence trends vary globally, with high-income countries showing higher rates for common cancers, while low- and middle-income countries face increasing rates due to lifestyle factors and infections.
