Anti-tumor properties of BLACK SEED (Nigella sativa L.) extracts

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the in vitro and in vivo anti-cancer effect of Nigella sativa L. seed extracts and found that the essential oil (IC50 = 0.6, v/v) and ethyl acetate (IC 50 =0.75%) extracts were more cytotoxic against the P815 cell line than the butanol extract (IC-50 = 2%).
Journal ArticleDOI

Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles UsingCycasLeaf

TL;DR: A green, low-cost, and reproducible Cycas leaf-negotiated synthesis of silver nanoparticles is reported in this paper, where X-ray and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analyses are performed to ascertain the formation of Ag nanoparticles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hypoglycemic effects of Teucrium polium.

TL;DR: Results indicate that this extract of Teucrium polium caused significant reductions in blood glucose concentration 4 h after intravenous administration and 24 h after intraperitoneal administration, which could be due to enhancement of peripheral metabolism of glucose rather than an increase in insulin release.
Journal ArticleDOI

Immunomodulatory active compounds from Tinospora cordifolia.

TL;DR: Seven immunomodulatory active compounds belonging to different classes have been isolated and characterised indicating that the immunommodulatory activity of Tinospora cordifolia may be attributed to the synergistic effect of group of compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antibacterial activity of Brazilian propolis and fractions against oral anaerobic bacteria.

TL;DR: Propolis collected from a cerrado area in Minas Gerais State, Brazil, was subjected to chromatography on silica gel column and to partition between immiscible solvents and yielded fractions which were active against bacteria.
