Journal ArticleDOI
A 43 kDa protein from the herb Cajanus indicus L. protects thioacetamide induced cytotoxicity in hepatocytes.
Kasturi Sarkar,Parames C. Sil +1 more
TL;DR: Results suggest that the protein from C. indicus can act as a hepatoprotector and primary antioxidant against TAA-induced cytotoxicity in mouse hepatocytes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structure and potential immunological activity of a pectin from Centella asiatica (L.) Urban.
TL;DR: S3A had no immunological activity, but its derivatives had immuno-stimulating activities to some extent, and side chains of S3A were predominantly linked to O-4 of 1,2,4-linked alpha-L-Rhap.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Benzene Extract of Hibiscus Rosa Sinensis on the Estrous Cycle and Ovarian Activity in Albino Mice
TL;DR: The benzene extract of Hibiscus rosa sinensis flowers was administered intraperitoneally and resulted in an irregular estrous cycle with prolonged estrus and metestrus and showed estrogenic activity in immature mice by early opening of the vagina, premature cornification of the vaginal epithelium and an increase in uterine weight.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antihyperglycemic activity with DPP-IV inhibition of alkaloids from seed extract of Castanospermum australe: Investigation by experimental validation and molecular docking.
Sudhanshu Kumar Bharti,Supriya Krishnan,Ajay Kumar,Kaushal Kishore Rajak,Krishna Murari,Binod Kumar Bharti,Ashok Kumar Gupta,Ashok Kumar Gupta +7 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that CAS extract (150 mg/kg body weight) normalizes hyperglycemia in T2DM rats with strong DPP-IV inhibitory potential and molecular docking showed that among the three alkaloids of seed extract 7-Deoxy-6-epi-castanospermine is a potent D PP-IV inhibitor similar to berberine.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mosquitocidal and antiplasmodial activity of Senna occidentalis (Cassiae) and Ocimum basilicum (Lamiaceae) from Maruthamalai hills against Anopheles stephensi and Plasmodium falciparum
Kadarkarai Murugan,N. Aarthi,Kalimuthu Kovendan,Chellasamy Panneerselvam,Balamurugan Chandramohan,Palanisamy Mahesh Kumar,Duraisamy Amerasan,Manickam Paulpandi,Ramachandran Chandirasekar,Devakumar Dinesh,Udaiyan Suresh,Jayapal Subramaniam,Akon Higuchi,Abdullah A. Alarfaj,Marcello Nicoletti,Heinz Mehlhorn,Giovanni Benelli +16 more
TL;DR: Overall, these botanicals could be considered as potential sources of metabolites to build newer and safer malaria control tools.
