Guide for the Design and Construction of Externally Bonded FRP Systems for Strengthening Concrete Structures

TLDR
The Emerging Technology Series as mentioned in this paper is a series of information and recommendations based on available test data, technical reports, limited experience with field applications, and the opinions of committee members, with a focus on the development and appropriate use of new and emerging technologies.
Abstract
*Co-chairs of the subcommittee that prepared this document. Note: The committee acknowledges the contribution of associate member Paul Kelley. ACI encourages the development and appropriate use of new and emerging technologies through the publication of the Emerging Technology Series. This series presents information and recommendations based on available test data, technical reports, limited experience with field applications, and the opinions of committee members. The presented information and recommendations, and their basis, may be less fully developed and tested than those for more mature technologies. This report identifies areas in which information is believed to be less fully developed, and describes research needs. The professional using this document should understand the limitations of this document and exercise judgment as to the appropriate application of this emerging technology.

Analytical approach for the flexural analysis of RC beams strengthened with prestressed CFRP

TL;DR: In this article, a simplified analytical approach is proposed to predict the flexural behavior of simply supported reinforced-concrete (RC) beams flexurally strengthened with prestressed carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) reinforcements using either externally bonded reinforcing (EBR) or near surface mounted (NSM) techniques.

Heat transfer and structural response modelling of FRP confined rectangular concrete columns in fire

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a computational model that can simulate the structural behavior of a short or slender, concentrically or eccentrically loaded, unwrapped or FRP wrapped column under both ambient and fire conditions.

Experimental Investigation of FRP-Concrete Debonding under Cyclic Actions

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of single shear tests under both monotonic and cyclic actions, without inversion of sign, were performed on concrete prismatic specimens reinforced with carbon FRP (CFRP) sheets or plates.

Design and testing of an adhesively bonded CFRP strengthening system for steel structures

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the main specifications that should be adopted in the design of CFRP strengthening systems applied to steel structures, and that were identified from an extensive literature survey.

Seismic Design and Retrofit of Bridges

TL;DR: In this article, the authors focus on designing adequate displacement and ductility capacity into new bridges, with less significance placed on strength, where a strength hierarchy is established in a bridge to ensure that damage is controllable and occurs only where the designer intends.
