Impact of morphology on high-speed humidity sensor performance
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of varying the thin-film porosity on sensor performance was investigated and it was found that increased porosity tends to decrease the desorption response time and increase the relative humidity where the devices become sensitive.

Optical properties of laser-deposited a-Ge films: a comparison with sputtered and e-beam-deposited films.
J. C. G. de Sande,Carmen N. Afonso,J. L. Escudero,Rosalía Serna,Fernando Catalina,Eusebio Bernabeu +5 more
TL;DR: This is the first publication on optical properties of amorphous Ge films that are grown by laser-assisted deposition and measured by means of spectroscopic ellipsometry over a wide spectral range (1.43-4.59 eV).
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of low temperature deposited atomic layer deposition TiO2 for MEMS applications
TL;DR: In this paper, the surface roughness of low-temperature atomic layer deposition (ALD) was investigated and it was shown that by suitable postdeposition annealing, all the properties of the low temperature deposited films recover to that of the 300 °C deposited TiO2, while the smooth surface profile (less than 1 nm roughness) is maintained.
Journal ArticleDOI
An ellipsometry study of silica nanoparticle layers at the water surface
TL;DR: A two-layer model is introduced which enables us to evaluate the radius of interfacial aggregates and their contact angle with the air/water interface and the two types of layers by multiple angle of incidence ellipsometry are studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Calibration, properties, and applications of the division-of-amplitude photopolarimeter at 632.8 and 1523 nm
TL;DR: Azzam et al. as mentioned in this paper used the division-of-amplitude photopolarimeter (DOAP) to perform time-resolved measurements of all four Stokes parameters.

Ellipsometry and polarized light
TL;DR: In this article, the polarization of light waves and propagation of polarized light through polarizing optical systems are discussed. But the authors focus on the application of ellipsometry in the field of measurement in ellipsometer systems.

A Variational Approach to the Theory of the Effective Magnetic Permeability of Multiphase Materials
Z. Hashin,S. Shtrikman +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors established and applied variational theorems for the derivation of bounds for the effective magnetic permeability of macroscopically homogeneous and isotropic multiphase materials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation of effective-medium models of microscopic surface roughness by spectroscopic ellipsometry
TL;DR: In this article, Bruggeman and Maxwell Garnett showed that the dielectric properties of microscopically rough layers of thicknesses 100-500 \AA{}A are accurately modeled in the effective medium approximation.
