Antioxidant, DNA binding and nuclease activities of heteroleptic copper(II) complexes derived from 2-((2-(piperazin-1-yl)ethylimino)methyl)-4-substituted phenols and diimines.
TL;DR: Binding studies suggest that the heteroleptic copper(II) complexes interact with calf thymus DNA through minor-groove and electrostatic interaction, and all the complexes display pronounced nuclease activity against supercoiled pBR322 DNA.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bis-μ-pyrazolate-Bridged Dinickel(II) and Dicopper(II) Complexes: An Example of Stereoelectronic Preference of Metal Ions and Stabilization of Mixed-Valence NiIIINiII Species
TL;DR: In this paper, a planar Ni2(μ-L′)2+ core was constructed by a tridentate ligand L and bridged by two pyridyl pyrazole units in their deprotonated form.

Mono- and dinuclear Zn(II) complexes of Schiff-base ligands: syntheses, characterization and studies of photoluminescence
Tanmay Chattopadhyay,Madhuparna Mukherjee,Kazi Sabnam Banu,Arpita Banerjee,Eringathodi Suresh,Ennio Zangrando,Debasis Das +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, metal mediated fluorescence enhancement is observed on complexation of HL1-HL4 with Zn(II), whereas metal mediated quenching occurs in Zn-II-complexes of L5 and L6.

Tudor Rosu,Elena Pahontu,Diana-Carolina Ilies,Diana-Carolina Ilies,Rodica Georgescu,Mihaela I. Mocanu,Mircea Leabu,Sergiu Shova,Aurelian Gulea +8 more
TL;DR: Six new complex compounds with Schiff base 1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-4-(1H-indole-3-carboxaldehyde)-3-pyrazolin-5-one (HL) proved to be the most effective as antibacterial agents, proving that some of them could be putative therapeutic substances.
