Synthesis, structure and properties of mononuclear cobalt(II) and cobalt(III) pseudohalide complexes containing N-donor schiff bases : Synthetic control of metal oxidation levels

TL;DR: In this article, two different series of cobalt(II)-cobalt(III) complexes of types [Co(L1)(X)2] (1a-1f) and [Co[L2)(X]3] (2a-2f), respectively, have been prepared and characterized using microanalytical, spectroscopic, magnetic, electrochemical and other physicochemical results.
Journal ArticleDOI

DNA interaction studies and evaluation of biological activity of homo- and hetero-trihalide mononuclear Cu(II) Schiff base complexes. Quantitative structure–activity relationships

TL;DR: The antimicrobial activity of Cu(II) complexes against Gram(+) and Gram(-) bacteria can be attributed to the synergistic action of the dissociation species, namely the cationic [Cu(dienXX)Y](+) and anionic [YZ(2)](-) ones.
Journal ArticleDOI

Vanadyl cationic complexes as catalysts in olefin oxidation

TL;DR: Three new mononuclear oxovanadium(IV) complexes [VO(acac)(R-BIAN)]Cl (BIAN = 1,2-bis{(R-phenyl)imino}acenaphthene, R = H, 1; CH3, 2; Cl, 3) were prepared and characterized and promoted the catalytic oxidation of olefins such as cyclohexene, cis-cyclooctene, and styrene.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis, Characterization, Antimicrobial and Antiproliferative Activity Evaluation of Cu(II), Co(II), Zn(II), Ni(II) and Pt(II) Complexes with Isoniazid-Derived Compound

TL;DR: The ligand and complexes 1–3 showed significant antimicrobial activity against the Gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans in comparison to the control drugs and the complexes 2–4 could be potential antitumor agents.
Journal ArticleDOI

Syntheses and structures of new trimetallic complexes bridged by N-(5-chloro-2-hydroxyphenyl)-N'-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl]oxamide: cytotoxic activities, and reactivities towards DNA and protein.

TL;DR: Cytotoxicities experiments reveal that the two trinuclear complexes both exhibits cytotoxic effects against human hepatocellular carcinoma cell SMMC-7721 and human lung adenocarcinoma cell A549.

Metal complexes as ligands—IV [1,2,3]: Bi- and Tri- nuclear complexes derived from metal complexes of tetradentate salicylaldimines

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of bi-and tri-nuclear complexes formed by using the donor properties of the two cis-oxygen atoms in metal (M) complexes of tetradentate Shiff bases (TSB) derived from salicylaldehyde or o-hydroxyacetophenone are reported.

The Donor Properties of Pyridine N-Oxide

TL;DR: The coordination chemistry of pyridine N-oxide with a variety of acceptors has been investigated in this article, where the new substances Co(ClO4)26L, Co(NO3)24L), CoCl23L and CoCl2LH20, NiClO 4H2O, NiBr26L and NiBr2L H2O have been isolated and characterized by molecular conductance measurements in non-aqueous solvents, magnetic susceptibility measurements, and infrared spectra.
