Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation, spectroscopic characterisation and thermal analyses studies of the cu(ii), pd(ii) and vo(iv) complexes of some schiff base ligands

TL;DR: In this paper, the Schiff base ligands were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, electronic absorption spectral data, magnetic moment and molar conductance for the ligands and their Pd(II) complexes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sulfur Donor Atom Effects on Copper(I)/O2 Chemistry with Thioanisole Containing Tetradentate N3S Ligand Leading to μ-1,2-Peroxo-Dicopper(II) species

TL;DR: The X-ray structure of 1a and its solution conductivity reveal a monomeric molecular structure possessing thioether coordination which persists in solution, and the C-O stretching frequencies of the derivative Cu(I)-CO complexes reveal that for these complexes, the modulated ligand arms, whether arylthioether, alkylthiaether, or ether, are not coordinated to the cuprous ion.
Journal ArticleDOI

New ruthenium(II)/phosphines/diimines complexes: Promising antitumor (human breast cancer) and Mycobacterium tuberculosis fighting agents

TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis and characterization of ruthenium compounds of the type [RuCl2(P)2(N-N)] were described, and the in vitro evaluation of the complexes, using the MTT methodology, revealed their cytotoxic activities in a range of 5.4-15.7μM against the MDA-MB-231 breast tumor cells and showed that, in this case, they are more active than the reference metallodrug cisplatin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photo-induced DNA cleavage activity and remarkable photocytotoxicity of lanthanide(III) complexes of a polypyridyl ligand.

TL;DR: The presence of an additional pyridyl group makes the pydppz complexes more photocytotoxic than their dppz analogues, which shows apoptosis as the major pathway of cell death.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mononuclear (Pd, Pt) and Binuclear (Pd,Pd; Pd,Ag; Pt,Ag) complexes containing the bis(diphenylphosphino)amine ligand

TL;DR: In this article, the dppa ligand acts as monodentate, bidentate-chelate or bidentates-bridging ligand depending on the precursors, the solvent, and the reaction conditions.

Metal complexes as ligands—IV [1,2,3]: Bi- and Tri- nuclear complexes derived from metal complexes of tetradentate salicylaldimines

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of bi-and tri-nuclear complexes formed by using the donor properties of the two cis-oxygen atoms in metal (M) complexes of tetradentate Shiff bases (TSB) derived from salicylaldehyde or o-hydroxyacetophenone are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Donor Properties of Pyridine N-Oxide

TL;DR: The coordination chemistry of pyridine N-oxide with a variety of acceptors has been investigated in this article, where the new substances Co(ClO4)26L, Co(NO3)24L), CoCl23L and CoCl2LH20, NiClO 4H2O, NiBr26L and NiBr2L H2O have been isolated and characterized by molecular conductance measurements in non-aqueous solvents, magnetic susceptibility measurements, and infrared spectra.
