Pedogenically degenerated illite and chlorite lattices aid to palaeoclimatic reconstruction for chronologically constrained (8–130 ka) loess-palaeosols of Dilpur Formation, Kashmir, India
TL;DR: In this paper, an analysis of detrital and pedogenic illite and chlorite when plotted against stratigraphic succession shows notable changes in the crystallographic axes, indicating a warm-humid and acidic environment, while the chlorite lattices represent expansion of a-, b- and contraction of c-axes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermodynamics of the kaolinite-group minerals
Irina A. Kiseleva,L. P. Orogodova,V. V. Krupskaya,V. V. Krupskaya,L. V. Mel’chakova,Marina F. Vigasina,I. Luse +6 more
TL;DR: The enthalpies of formation of dickite and kaolinite were determined by high-temperature melt solution calorimetry to be ΔfH°(298.15 K) = −4118 ± 10 and −4127 ± 10 kJ/mol, respectively as mentioned in this paper.

Quantification Curves for XRD Analysis of Mixed-Layer 14Å/10Å Clay Minerals
TL;DR: Using theoretical profiles of diffracted X-ray intensity for interstratification between layers having d-spacings around 14.3 A and 10.1 A, a series of diagrams was derived from which the proportion of 14.4 A layers (W14) and the probability of passing from a 14. 3 A layer to a 10. 1 A layer (P,4/o) can be derived as discussed by the authors.
