Journal ArticleDOI

Sorption of Uranium on Some Natural Modified Clay Mineral Deposits.

TL;DR: In this article, the results showed that the U adsorption was pH dependent and that the maximum U adaption value was at pH 5 and 6 for bentonite and kaolinite, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genesis and age of mineralogical profiles of Moldavian chernozems

TL;DR: In this article, the mineralogical profiles testify to the eluvial nature of the main subtypes of chernozems and suggest that the revealed changes are not due to the Holocene pedogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genesis of soils developed from red-brown clays and loesslike loams in the southwest of the Central Russian plain (the Belogor’e reserve)

TL;DR: In this article, a polygenetic nature of the soil profile on the Quaternary loess-like loams is shown, where the modern pedogenetic processes in this soil ensure its eluvial-illuvial differentiation with the development of multilayered coatings in the illuvial horizon.
Journal ArticleDOI

Petrology and clay mineralogy of some sedimentary rocks from the Mauriceville district

TL;DR: The bulk of the sediments of the area are "mudstones" with silt as the commonest particle size/Mineral composition indicates derivation from a greywacke source, and the predommance of silt suggests that the supplying terrain had subdued relief.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pollutants behaviour and temperature effect on chemical piles treated marine clay

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of temperature on the engineering behavior of chemical piles treated clays in the presence of sulphate and chloride contaminated marine environment was investigated. And the test results indicated that the increase in temperature has improved the engineering properties of soil significantly.
