Chabazite and dolomite formation in a dolocrete profile: An example of a complex alkaline paragenesis in Lanzarote, Canary Islands
Ana María Alonso-Zarza,Ana María Alonso-Zarza,Leticia Bustamante,Pedro Huerta,Álvaro Rodríguez-Berriguete,Álvaro Rodríguez-Berriguete,María José Huertas +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the weathering and soil formation processes operating on detrital sediments containing alkaline volcanic rock fragments of the Mirador del Rio dolocrete profile.
Journal ArticleDOI
X-ray powder data for Mg-Al-celadonite (leucophyllite) from Barcza, Poland
TL;DR: A natural 1 M-celadonite from Barcza, Poland, approximates closely the Mg-Al end member of the celadonite group as mentioned in this paper, and a comparison with other end members indicates that within this group of minerals the substitution Mg+Si=2 Al diminishes c0, whereas the incorporation of Fe+3 instead of octahedral Al will increase both b0 and c0 sin β.
Journal ArticleDOI
Formation of polymeric species in the interlayer of bentonite
TL;DR: The presence of an interlayer polymer causes the clay to assume strong hydrophobic properties as discussed by the authors, which is attributed to the acidic properties of the residual water in the interlamellar space, depending on the nature of the exchanged ion.
Journal ArticleDOI
A problem in 210 Pb geochronologies of sediments
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the principal controls on 210Pb scavenging from water are both soil particles and hydrous oxides of manganese in Lake Suwa and Lake Osaka Bay.
Journal ArticleDOI
Crystallization of CaAl4O7 and CaAl12O19 powders
TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of powders of two calcium aluminate phases (CaAl4O7, which is also known as CaO · 2Al2O3 or CA2, and CaAl12O19, which are known as CAO · 6Al 2O3or CA6) has been investigated using low-temperature chemical processing techniques.
