High temperature dehydroxylation of muscovite-2M 1 : a kinetic study by in situ XRPD

TL;DR: In this article, high temperature powder diffraction was used to investigate the structural and kinetic interpretation of the de-hydroxylation process in the case of muscovite-2M1, and the results unequivocally confirmed that the reaction taking place in the temperature range 700-1000°C is truly a dehydroxylated process, involving the nucleation and growth of the high temperature de-hyde phase, having Al in 5-fold coordination.
