Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic analysis of over 1 million people identifies 535 new loci associated with blood pressure traits.

Evangelos Evangelou, +341 more
- 17 Sep 2018 -
TL;DR: In this article, the largest genetic association study of blood pressure traits (systolic, diastolic and pulse pressure) to date in over 1 million people of European ancestry was conducted.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thirty loci identified for heart rate response to exercise and recovery implicate autonomic nervous system.

TL;DR: The authors examine both traits in a two-stage GWAS design in up to 67,257 individuals from UK Biobank to reinforce current understanding of HR response to exercise and recovery and could guide future studies evaluating its contribution to cardiovascular risk prediction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genome-wide association study identifies loci for arterial stiffness index in 127,121 UK Biobank participants.

TL;DR: Gene-based testing revealed three significant genes, the most significant gene was COL4A2 encoding type IV collagen, and candidate genes at associated loci were also involved in smooth muscle tone regulation, providing new information for understanding the development of arterial stiffness.
