Prostaglandin I2 Analogs Inhibit Proinflammatory Cytokine Production and T Cell Stimulatory Function of Dendritic Cells
Weisong Zhou,Koichi Hashimoto,Kasia Goleniewska,Jamye F. O'Neal,Shaoquan Ji,Timothy S. Blackwell,Garret A. FitzGerald,Karine Egan,Mark W. Geraci,R. Stokes Peebles +9 more
TL;DR: It is reported that PGI2 analogs (iloprost, cicaprost, treprostinil) differentially modulate the response of murine bone marrow-derived DC (BMDC) to LPS in an IP-dependent manner and suggest that P GI2 signaling through the IP may exert anti-inflammatory effects by acting on DC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endogenous biosynthesis of arachidonic acid epoxides in humans : increased formation in pregnancy-induced hypertension
TL;DR: The hypothesis that P450 metabolites of arachidonic acid are formed in humans supports the hypothesis that these metabolites contribute to the physiological response to normal pregnancy and the pathophysiology of pregnancy-induced hypertension.

TL;DR: The findings extend the understanding of genes involved in BP regulation, which may provide new targets for therapeutic intervention or drug response stratification and provide support for a putative role in hypertension of several genes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microbes vs. chemistry in the origin of the anaerobic gut lumen.
Elliot S. Friedman,Kyle Bittinger,Tatiana V. Esipova,Likai Hou,Lillian Chau,Jack Jiang,Clementina Mesaros,Peder J. Lund,Xue Liang,Garret A. FitzGerald,Mark Goulian,Daeyeon Lee,Benjamin A. Garcia,Ian A. Blair,Sergei A. Vinogradov,Gary D. Wu +15 more
TL;DR: How oxygen from the mammalian host is used by the gut microbiota, while both the microbes and the oxidative chemical reactions regulate luminal oxygen levels, shaping the composition of the microbial community throughout different regions of the gut is demonstrated.
Journal Article
The Human Thromboxane A2 Receptor α Isoform (TPα) Functionally Couples to the G Proteins Gq and G11 In Vivo and is Activated by the Isoprostane 8-epi Prostaglandin F2α
TL;DR: The results demonstrate that the TPα isoform functionally couples with either Gq or G11 in vivo, whether activated by a PG/TXA2 analog or by the F2 isoprostane 8-epi PGF2α.
