Measurement of the production cross section of jets in association with a Z boson in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV with the ATLAS detector

Georges Aad, +2943 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the production of jets of particles in association with a Z boson in pp collisions at root s = 7 TeV, using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.6 fb(-1) collected by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider.

Measurements of normalized differential cross sections for tt¯ production in pp collisions at √(s)=7 TeV using the ATLAS detector

Georges Aad, +2857 more
- 13 Oct 2014 -
Abstract: Measurements of normalized differential cross sections for top-quark pair production are presented as a function of the top-quark transverse momentum, and of the mass, transverse momentum, and rapidity of the t (t) over bar system, in proton proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of root s = 7 TeV. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.6 fb(-1), recorded in 2011 with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. Events are selected in the lepton jets channel, requiring exactly one lepton and at least four jets with at least one of the jets tagged as originating from a b-quark. The measured spectra are corrected for detector efficiency and resolution effects and are compared to several Monte Carlo simulations and theory calculations. The results are in fair agreement with the predictions in a wide kinematic range. Nevertheless, data distributions are softer than predicted for higher values of the mass of the t (t) over bar system and of the top-quark transverse momentum. The measurements can also discriminate among different sets of parton distribution functions.

Evidence for the associated production of a W boson and a top quark in ATLAS at √s = 7 TeV

Georges Aad, +2856 more
- 17 Sep 2012 -
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented evidence for the associated production of a W boson and a top quark using 2.05 fb(-1) of pp collision data at root s = 7 TeV accumulated with the ATLAS detector at the LHC.
Journal ArticleDOI

Search for Higgs boson pair production in the [Formula: see text] final state from pp collisions at [Formula: see text] TeVwith the ATLAS detector.

Georges Aad, +2824 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the decay products of each Higgs boson are reconstructed as a high-momentum system with either a pair of small-radius jets or a single large-radius jet, the latter exploiting jet substructure techniques and associated b-tagged track-jets.
Journal ArticleDOI

Search for long-lived stopped R-hadrons decaying out-of-time with pp collisions using the ATLAS detector

Georges Aad, +2917 more
- 03 Dec 2013 -
TL;DR: In this paper, an updated search is performed for gluino, top squark, or bottom squark R-hadrons that have come to rest within the ATLAS calorimeter, and decay at some later time to hadronic jets and a neutralino, using 5.0 and 22.9 fb(-1) of pp collisions at 7 and 8 TeV, respectively.
