TL;DR: Constraints on spin, parity, and charge conjugation parity of the X(3872) particle are derived by comparing measured angular distributions of the decay products with predictions for different J(PC) hypotheses.
Abstract: The authors present an analysis of angular distributions and correlations of the X(3872) in the exclusive decay mode X(3872) {yields} J/{psi}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -} with J/{psi} {yields} {mu}{sup +}{mu}{sup -}. They use 780 pb{sup -1} of data from p{bar p} collisions at {radical}s = 1.96 TeV collected with the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. They derive constraints on spin, parity, and charge conjugation parity of the X(3872) by comparing measured angular distributions of the decay products with predictions for different J{sup PC} hypotheses. The assignments J{sup PC} = 1{sup ++} and 2{sup -+} are the only ones consistent with the data.

TL;DR: It can be suggested that porous MOFs, supported with ionic liquids, may introduce a new class of highly porous adsorbents for the efficient adsorption of various compounds.
Abstract: Acidic ionic-liquids (IL) supported on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been shown to be beneficial for adsorptive desulfurization. A remarkable improvement in the adsorption capacity (ca. 71%) was observed in for ILs supported on MIL-101 compared with virgin MIL-101. The improved adsorptive performance might be explained by the acid-base interactions between the acidic ionic liquid and basic benzothiophene (BT). Moreover, from this study, it can be suggested that porous MOFs, supported with ionic liquids, may introduce a new class of highly porous adsorbents for the efficient adsorption of various compounds.

TL;DR: In this paper, the pion transition form factor, F(Q(2)), is measured for the kinematical region 4 GeV2 <= Q(2) <= 40 GeV 2, where -Q 2 is the invariant-mass squared of a virtual photon.
Abstract: We report a measurement of the process gamma gamma* -> pi(0) with a 759 fb(-1) data sample recorded with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. The pion transition form factor, F(Q(2)), is measured for the kinematical region 4 GeV2 <= Q(2) <= 40 GeV2, where -Q(2) is the invariant-mass squared of a virtual photon. The measured values of Q(2)vertical bar F(Q(2))vertical bar agree well with the previous measurements below Q(2) similar or equal to 9 GeV2 but do not exhibit the rapid growth in the higher Q(2) region seen in another recent measurement, which exceeds the asymptotic QCD expectation by as much as 50%.

TL;DR: A set of 57 real-world Constrained Optimization Problems are described and presented as a benchmark suite to validate the COPs and reveal that the selected problems are indeed challenging to these algorithms, which have been shown to solve many synthetic benchmark problems easily.
Abstract: Real-world optimization problems have been comparatively difficult to solve due to the complex nature of the objective function with a substantial number of constraints. To deal with such problems, several metaheuristics as well as constraint handling approaches have been suggested. To validate the effectiveness and strength, performance of a newly designed approach should be benchmarked by using some complex real-world problems, instead of only the toy problems with synthetic objective functions, mostly arising from the area of numerical analysis. A list of standard real-life problems appears to be the need of the time for benchmarking new algorithms in an efficient and unbiased manner. In this study, a set of 57 real-world Constrained Optimization Problems (COPs) are described and presented as a benchmark suite to validate the COPs. These problems are shown to capture a wide range of difficulties and challenges that arise from the real life optimization scenarios. Three state-of-the-art constrained optimization methods are exhaustively tested on these problems to analyze their hardness. The experimental outcomes reveal that the selected problems are indeed challenging to these algorithms, which have been shown to solve many synthetic benchmark problems easily.
