A Temporally Based Framework and Taxonomy of Team Processes
TLDR
This article defines team process in the context of a multiphase episodic framework related to goal accomplishment, arguing that teams are multitasking units that perform multiple processes simultaneously and sequentially to orchestrate goal-directed taskwork.Abstract:
In this article we examine the meaning of team process. We first define team process in the context of a multiphase episodic framework related to goal accomplishment, arguing that teams are multitasking units that perform multiple processes simultaneously and sequentially to orchestrate goal-directed taskwork. We then advance a taxonomy of team process dimensions synthesized from previous research and theorizing. a taxonomy that reflects our time-based conceptual framework. We conclude with implications for future research and application.read more

The riddle of heterarchy: : power transitions in cross-functional teams
TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed the concept of power heterarchy, which is a conceptualization of power structures in groups that is more dynamic and fluid than traditional hierarchical structures, and demonstrated that heterarchical structures in which the expression of power actively shifts among team members to align team member capabilities with dynamic situational demands can enhance team creativity.

Does trust matter more in virtual teams? A meta-analysis of trust and team effectiveness considering virtuality and documentation as moderators.
TL;DR: The relationship between team trust and team performance was stronger in virtual teams as compared to face-to-face teams, and weaker when team interactions were documented, and documenting team interactions seems to be a viable complement to trust-building activities, particularly invirtual teams.
