Dendritic cell-based immunotherapy
TLDR
What has been learned thus far about human DC biology from clinical studies are discussed, and how current approaches to apply DC vaccines in the clinic could be improved to enhance anti-tumor immunity are discussed.Abstract:
Immunotherapy using dendritic cell (DC)-based vaccination is an approved approach for harnessing the potential of a patient's own immune system to eliminate tumor cells in metastatic hormone-refractory cancer. Overall, although many DC vaccines have been tested in the clinic and proven to be immunogenic, and in some cases associated with clinical outcome, there remains no consensus on how to manufacture DC vaccines. In this review we will discuss what has been learned thus far about human DC biology from clinical studies, and how current approaches to apply DC vaccines in the clinic could be improved to enhance anti-tumor immunity.read more

IFI30 expression is an independent unfavourable prognostic factor in glioma.
TL;DR: Correlation analysis showed that IFI30 was significantly positively correlated with immune checkpoints that suppress effective antitumour immune responses, which contributes to knowledge about the glioma microenvironment and might provide clues for the development of novel therapeutic targets.

TL;DR: A proteomic and immunopeptidomics analysis of modifications and alterations introduced by HOCl treatment using a human melanoma cell line as a model system suggests that the increased immunogenicity of Ox-L is, at least in part, due to qualitative and quantitative changes in the HLA-II ligandome.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss the different types of tumor antigens and vaccine technologies evaluated in clinical trials, with a focus on those used in children, and conclude with perspectives on how advances in combination therapies, tumor antigen selection, and vaccine platform optimization can be translated into clinical practice to improve outcomes for children with cancer.

TL;DR: Dendritic cells are antigen-presenting cells with a unique ability to induce primary immune responses and may be important for the induction of immunological tolerance, as well as for the regulation of the type of T cell-mediated immune response.

TL;DR: Treatment efficacy was associated with a higher number of mutations in the tumors, and a tumor-specific T cell response paralleled tumor regression in one patient, suggesting that the genomic landscape of lung cancers shapes response to anti–PD-1 therapy.
