Journal ArticleDOI

Salinity induced oxidative stress and antioxidant system in salt-tolerant and salt-sensitive cultivars of rice Oryza sativa L

TL;DR: It is inferred that leaves of salt-tolerant cultivars tend to attain greater capacity to perform reactions of antioxidative pathway under saline conditions to combat salinity-induced oxidative stress.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microbial properties of soils as affected by cropping and nutrient management practices in several long-term manurial experiments in the semi-arid tropics of India

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of longterm cropping, fertilization, manuring and their integration on microbial community were studied in soil samples from five long-term fertilizer experiments under various rainfed production systems in the semi-arid tropics of India.
Journal ArticleDOI

Changes in carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus levels due to deforestation and cultivation: A case study in Simlipal National Park, India

TL;DR: In this article, the authors showed that deforestation and cultivation result in statistically significant reduction in organic C, total N and C:N ratios but no significant changes in total and available P levels; C:P and N:P ratios also reduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Arsenic-tolerant, arsenite-oxidising bacterial strains in the contaminated soils of West Bengal, India

TL;DR: This study presents the first correlation regarding the presence of the aoxB gene and As(III) oxidation ability in Geobacillus stearothermophilus, and identifies four strains as superior As-oxidisers.

Genetic Variability Studies for Qualitative and Quantitative traits in Popular Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Hybrids of India

TL;DR: The characters viz., number of filled grains per panicle and water uptake exhibited high heritability coupled with high genetic advance indicating that simple selection could be effective for improving these characters.

Effect of plant growth regulators on flower yield, vase life and economics of dutch rose (Rosa hybrida Linn.) cv. ‘PASSION’ under polyhouse condition

TL;DR: An application of GA 3 200 ppm is most effective treatment for increasing number of Flowers per plant, number of flowers per square meter, numberof flower per hectare and vase life of rose flowers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Correlation and Path Co-Efficient Analysis in Cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. Botrytis L.)

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the nature and magnitude of phenotypic coefficient of variation (PCV) for 22 genotypes of Cauliflower planted in Randomized Block Design with three replications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of nutrient sources on growth, yield and economics of organic lettuce production under foothills of eastern Himalayan region.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a method to solve the problem of EJFA: 10.9755/ejfa.2015.04.046.1].
Journal ArticleDOI

Estimate Heterosis for Yield and Yield Components in Linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) Germplasm

TL;DR: Omega-3 fatty acids lower levels of triglycerides in the blood, thereby reducing heart disease, and also show promise in the International Journal of Current Microbiology and Applied Sciences.
Journal Article

Influence of fertilizer levels and biofertilizers on yield and economics of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Moench) CV. GAO-5

TL;DR: The results of the present investigation revealed that application of 100 per cent RDF significantly increased number of pod per plant (9.12g), yield per plot (2.80kg) and yield per hectare (115.06q) and days taken to last picking (103.54) as discussed by the authors.
