Studies on the effect of nitrogen levels and spacing on quality traits of radish (Raphanus sativus L.) cv. Kashi Sweta

TL;DR: It was concluded that the increases in the nitrogen fertilizer increase the quality of radish and maximizes the ascorbic acid content and sugar content.
Journal Article

Effect of season and environmental conditions on softwood grafting of sapota under Saurashtra region of Gujarat cv. Kalipatti

TL;DR: An investigation on “Effect of season and environmental conditions on softwood grafting of sapota under Saurashtra region of Gujarat cv. Kalipatti” was carried out at Hi-Tech Horticulture Park, Department of Horticulture, JAU, Junagadh during the year 2019-20 and indicated that among environmental conditions polyhouse recorded minimum number of days required for emergence of sprout.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of Thermovinification on Quality of Jamun (Syzygium cumini) Wine

TL;DR: The thermovinified must of pulp+skin yielded organoleptically acceptable wine and the alcohol content of jamun fruit wine was found maximum in the treatment involving Thermovinification - Pulp + Skin at fresh, 3 and 6 months after ageing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Certain Rootstocks on Vegetative, Reproductive Growth and Yield of Cashew Cultivars

TL;DR: Investigation of the effects of vigour controlling rootstocks on vegetative growth and yield of cashew cultivars revealed that NRC 492 could be used as a rootstock to induce semi dwarfism with a higher nut yield.
Journal ArticleDOI

Morphological characteristics among different populations for screening of beul trees (Grewia optiva Drummond)

TL;DR: The populations viz; Kothi Kunal (SL1), Jajjer (SM2) and Lamlehri (UN5) are significantly proved the best sources, on the basis of natural phenotypical observations, for selection and screening of superior individuals within the populations, so as to develop beul based agroforestry in uplands of Himachal Pradesh.

Salinity induced oxidative stress and antioxidant system in salt-tolerant and salt-sensitive cultivars of rice Oryza sativa L

TL;DR: It is inferred that leaves of salt-tolerant cultivars tend to attain greater capacity to perform reactions of antioxidative pathway under saline conditions to combat salinity-induced oxidative stress.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microbial properties of soils as affected by cropping and nutrient management practices in several long-term manurial experiments in the semi-arid tropics of India

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of longterm cropping, fertilization, manuring and their integration on microbial community were studied in soil samples from five long-term fertilizer experiments under various rainfed production systems in the semi-arid tropics of India.
Journal ArticleDOI

Changes in carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus levels due to deforestation and cultivation: A case study in Simlipal National Park, India

TL;DR: In this article, the authors showed that deforestation and cultivation result in statistically significant reduction in organic C, total N and C:N ratios but no significant changes in total and available P levels; C:P and N:P ratios also reduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Arsenic-tolerant, arsenite-oxidising bacterial strains in the contaminated soils of West Bengal, India

TL;DR: This study presents the first correlation regarding the presence of the aoxB gene and As(III) oxidation ability in Geobacillus stearothermophilus, and identifies four strains as superior As-oxidisers.

Genetic Variability Studies for Qualitative and Quantitative traits in Popular Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Hybrids of India

TL;DR: The characters viz., number of filled grains per panicle and water uptake exhibited high heritability coupled with high genetic advance indicating that simple selection could be effective for improving these characters.
