Journal ArticleDOI
Salinity induced oxidative stress and antioxidant system in salt-tolerant and salt-sensitive cultivars of rice Oryza sativa L
TL;DR: It is inferred that leaves of salt-tolerant cultivars tend to attain greater capacity to perform reactions of antioxidative pathway under saline conditions to combat salinity-induced oxidative stress.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microbial properties of soils as affected by cropping and nutrient management practices in several long-term manurial experiments in the semi-arid tropics of India
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of longterm cropping, fertilization, manuring and their integration on microbial community were studied in soil samples from five long-term fertilizer experiments under various rainfed production systems in the semi-arid tropics of India.
Journal ArticleDOI
Changes in carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus levels due to deforestation and cultivation: A case study in Simlipal National Park, India
TL;DR: In this article, the authors showed that deforestation and cultivation result in statistically significant reduction in organic C, total N and C:N ratios but no significant changes in total and available P levels; C:P and N:P ratios also reduced.
Journal ArticleDOI
Arsenic-tolerant, arsenite-oxidising bacterial strains in the contaminated soils of West Bengal, India
TL;DR: This study presents the first correlation regarding the presence of the aoxB gene and As(III) oxidation ability in Geobacillus stearothermophilus, and identifies four strains as superior As-oxidisers.
Genetic Variability Studies for Qualitative and Quantitative traits in Popular Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Hybrids of India
TL;DR: The characters viz., number of filled grains per panicle and water uptake exhibited high heritability coupled with high genetic advance indicating that simple selection could be effective for improving these characters.

Path analysis and quality characters in cauliflower
Diksha Manaware,A.K. Naidu +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the path analysis and quality characters in cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis L.) were conducted at Horticulture Complex, Department of Horticulture, College of Agriculture JNKVV, Jabalpur (M.P.) during 2016-17.
Journal ArticleDOI
Studies on Heterosis and Inbreeding Depression in Bottle Gourd (Lagenaria siceraria (Mol.) Standl)
TL;DR: The observed and the expected estimates for heterosis, heterobeltiosis and inbreeding depression were in close agreement with one another for all the characters in all five crosses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Incidence of leafhoppers in rice in relation to meteorological parameters
TL;DR: The investigation revealed that, hoppers activity was first recorded during 36th standard meteorological week (SMW) on yellow sticky traps, and among the leafhopper complex observed during crop period only four species were abundant viz., Nephottetix virescens, N. nigropictus, C. spectra and Maiestas dorsalis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic divergence, variability, heritability and genetic advance for growth, pod quality and yield characters in dolichos bean (Dolichos lablab L.var. typicus Prain) germplasm
TL;DR: High genetic advance along with relatively high heritability percent were observed for vine length, days to first flowering, pod length, pod width, pod weight, number of pods per plant, seed length, seed breadth, 100 fresh seed weight, protein content, fibre content and pod yield per plant.
Journal Article
Genetic variability studies in turmeric (Curcuma longa L.)
TL;DR: High heritability coupled with high genetic advance as percent of mean was observed for all the character except dry matter percent and oleoresin content, which suggest a wide scope for improvement through selection of these traits.
