Effect of integrated nutrient management on yield attributes and yield of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

TL;DR: The results revealed that the application 100% recommended dose of fertilizers (RDF) i.e. 100% RDF + 25% N through vermicompost (T6), the extent substitution of nitrogen through integrated nutrient management was obtained increased the growth, development and yield of wheat than other treatments.
Journal Article

Response of garlic to integrated nutrient management practices in a sodic soil of Uttar Pradesh, India.

TL;DR: It can be concluded that for sustainable production of garlic, application of recommended dose of inorganic fertilizer (NPK) supplemented with 20 t ha-1 of FYM coupled with inoculation of PSB and Trichoderma can enhance yield and profitability of garlic.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study of Genetic Variability, Heritability and Genetic Advance in Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) Genotypes

TL;DR: Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) is one of the prehistoric oilseed crop, dates back to 30503500 BC and has been cultivated from ancient times, extensively cultivated worldwide and naturalized in dry habitats of tropical and subtropical regions of the old world.

Weed Management in Direct-seeded Semi Dry Rice

TL;DR: In this paper, an experiment was conducted consecutively during kharif 2005, 2006 and 2007 at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Lam Farm, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh to evolve suitable integrated weed management technique for direct-seeded semi dry rice.
Journal Article

Integrated management of okra leaf spot caused by Alternaria chlamydospora

TL;DR: The results revealed that all the treatments significantly influenced leaf spot disease incidence, intensity, fruit parameters, fruit yield and incremental cost: benefit ratio (ICBR), over untreated control.

Salinity induced oxidative stress and antioxidant system in salt-tolerant and salt-sensitive cultivars of rice Oryza sativa L

TL;DR: It is inferred that leaves of salt-tolerant cultivars tend to attain greater capacity to perform reactions of antioxidative pathway under saline conditions to combat salinity-induced oxidative stress.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microbial properties of soils as affected by cropping and nutrient management practices in several long-term manurial experiments in the semi-arid tropics of India

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of longterm cropping, fertilization, manuring and their integration on microbial community were studied in soil samples from five long-term fertilizer experiments under various rainfed production systems in the semi-arid tropics of India.
Journal ArticleDOI

Changes in carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus levels due to deforestation and cultivation: A case study in Simlipal National Park, India

TL;DR: In this article, the authors showed that deforestation and cultivation result in statistically significant reduction in organic C, total N and C:N ratios but no significant changes in total and available P levels; C:P and N:P ratios also reduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Arsenic-tolerant, arsenite-oxidising bacterial strains in the contaminated soils of West Bengal, India

TL;DR: This study presents the first correlation regarding the presence of the aoxB gene and As(III) oxidation ability in Geobacillus stearothermophilus, and identifies four strains as superior As-oxidisers.

Genetic Variability Studies for Qualitative and Quantitative traits in Popular Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Hybrids of India

TL;DR: The characters viz., number of filled grains per panicle and water uptake exhibited high heritability coupled with high genetic advance indicating that simple selection could be effective for improving these characters.
