Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of environmental factors on the biology of tamarind bruchid, Caryedon serratus (Olivier) on groundnut.

TL;DR: Findings revealed that proper control strategies could be planned for the management of Caryedon serratus from September to February to avoid post harvest losses in stored groundnut.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of leguminous green leaf manures and leaf extract on growth, yield, quality and economics of bhendi [Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench]cv. Arka Anamika

TL;DR: Among the treatment combinations, Albizia lebbeck [green leaf manure]+ Annona squamosa [seed soaking along with foliar sprays] was recorded the highest performance of growth parameters, yield and quality characters and this treatment also recorded highest net profit and benefit cost ratio.
Journal Article

Influence of crop management practices on late sown toria (Brassica campestries var. toria) under rainfed rice-fallow situation of Assam

TL;DR: In this paper, a field experiment was conducted under rainfed condition during the rabi season of the year 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 at the Instructional-cum-Research farm, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat, India to study the performance of recently developed late sown toria var. JT-90-1 (Jeuti) under different dates of sowing, seed rates and method of Sowing in medium land rice-fallow situation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification of Desirable Recombinants though Transgressive Segregation and Association Analysis in Soybean

TL;DR: The soybean is economically the most important bean in the world, providing vegetable protein for millions of the people and ingredients for hundreds of chemical products.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of spacing and foliar spray of micronutrients on growth and yield of cluster bean (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub.)

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of spacing and foliar spray of micronutrient on growth and yield characters on cluster bean has been investigated, with a view to study the effects of spacing on the performance of cluster bean.

Journal ArticleDOI

Salinity induced oxidative stress and antioxidant system in salt-tolerant and salt-sensitive cultivars of rice Oryza sativa L

TL;DR: It is inferred that leaves of salt-tolerant cultivars tend to attain greater capacity to perform reactions of antioxidative pathway under saline conditions to combat salinity-induced oxidative stress.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microbial properties of soils as affected by cropping and nutrient management practices in several long-term manurial experiments in the semi-arid tropics of India

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of longterm cropping, fertilization, manuring and their integration on microbial community were studied in soil samples from five long-term fertilizer experiments under various rainfed production systems in the semi-arid tropics of India.
Journal ArticleDOI

Changes in carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus levels due to deforestation and cultivation: A case study in Simlipal National Park, India

TL;DR: In this article, the authors showed that deforestation and cultivation result in statistically significant reduction in organic C, total N and C:N ratios but no significant changes in total and available P levels; C:P and N:P ratios also reduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Arsenic-tolerant, arsenite-oxidising bacterial strains in the contaminated soils of West Bengal, India

TL;DR: This study presents the first correlation regarding the presence of the aoxB gene and As(III) oxidation ability in Geobacillus stearothermophilus, and identifies four strains as superior As-oxidisers.

Genetic Variability Studies for Qualitative and Quantitative traits in Popular Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Hybrids of India

TL;DR: The characters viz., number of filled grains per panicle and water uptake exhibited high heritability coupled with high genetic advance indicating that simple selection could be effective for improving these characters.
